If your W11 24H2 is fully updated, you can change the version to 25H2 with one small KB file .....

Just downloaded the eKB5054156 & installed it - my laptop did a reboot & 2 minutes later it was now on 25H2...



It's now busy doing the 2025-09 .NET Framework cumulative update...

My new Lenovo 12th Gen i5 laptop downloaded & installed it with no issues - not so with my old 'unsupported' Lenovo 5th Gen i3 laptop, which I had just upgraded last week from Win 10 Pro 22H2 to Win 11 Pro 25H2 - it keeps on failing to install and throws out a "Install error - 0x800f0983" message - ran both sfc/ scannow & DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth utilities - still no luck...

Thankfully I had better luck with my 'dinosaur' Core2 Duo desktop which I had recently updated to Win 11 Enterprise 22H2 - I downloaded a Win 11 23H2 English International ISO image, ran Rufus & got it to install successfully - this is as far as I can go upgrading the OS on this PC, as Win 11 24H2 or newer does NOT support my outdated CPU any more... it's now busy downloading & installing all of the remaining pending Cumulative updates...





It's now busy doing the 2025-10 Cumulative Updates for Win 11 23H2...

Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows Spyware 11.

No thanks, will give it a miss. Then you're more than likely to also go with Windows 12 which will be busting from the seams with AI and all kinds of tracking and monitoring software. With updates no doubt coming in fast and furious turning it into a bloated lead weight. Good luck with that.

Sounds like you need to stay off the internet completely ... cause AI is everywhere ... stay under the bed ... that's where it's safe !!!

Well you could just not use it or turn it off. There's an on/off toggle.

Looks like either the latest 2025-10 Win 11 25H2 cumulative update or the latest Microsoft 365 update has changed the icons for the MS Office apps to the new versions that were recently revealed by Microsoft...
