Windows 11 Support Thread

Updated via the Installation Assistant. Went well, it's all good and my work laptop (which isn't any slouch) appears to be running Windows 11 and apps more efficiently.

From windows 11 preview builds?

I only get 'keep none/clean install'

Upgrade via ISO (with TPM bypass script) Done ....

Have it setup like I prefer it now ...

Open Shell (for Classic start menu)
Small Taskbar (without icon misplacement)
ExplorerPatcher for:
- System tray icons
- Never combine taskbar icon
- Disable command bar and that crap double context menu feature

I had that on Fresh install as well.... only once it was done installing 11, it ask me if I want to Keep my programs and files.

I went nope cause I wanted a fresh install for a reason.

It did move all my Old stuff (Windows/Users) into c:\Windows.old folder so still ended up using Disc clean-up utility to get rid of it.

Im confused? ... a fresh install usually means formatting the drive?

Exactly.

I ran set-up from within Windows cause I wanted to keep my Pro licence and not the laptop's Single User OEM, and it only had Keep-nothing enabled and ticked, which is what I wanted. So after the install and the initial set-up that ask for Keyboard and such also asked me if I wanted to keep my files and programs.

Remember clearly going "WTF is this s..." and clicked on NOTHING. After the install was done, I had a Windows and Windows.old folder that I know from past experience needs Disc Clean-up tool to get rid of.
