Windows 11 Support Thread

No SSD yet ? ... W10/W11 runs so much better on a SSD than a mechanical HDD
It's a Core 2 Duo - will leave it with the SATA HDD's - going to replace it with a Blackview mini PC when it's 'Black Friday' specials time again... ;)

Either this one...

Or this one...

^ I hear ya, but even a cheap 128GB @R250-300 will blow new life into that OS and software ... Keep the 1TB for data.

Use the change location feature to move those libraries to the large drive.

I was running on a 64GB SSD for many moons just to speed up the OS and software I used daily :p

KB5065789 News

In our tests, Windows Latest found that it takes approximately 5 minutes to complete the installation, and the download size is close to 1.5GB through Windows Update. But it’s about 4GB via Microsoft Update Catalog.

Also, this patch can be installed on PCs running Windows 11 25H2 through ISOs downloaded from third-party sources or if you signed up for the Windows Insider Program. For those unaware, Windows 11 25H2 = 24H2, and that also means the features are shared between the two releases. 25H2 doesn’t get anything exclusive.

Just a note on these, I have the Blackview MP60 sourced from Amazon.

They do what they say on paper, but barely.

I replaced a 2nd gen Core i3 desktop PC with this Mini PC, and also installed a 1TB SSD into the expansion tray.

The verdict after about a month of using it is that the only advantages are the smaller footprint and the fact that the Blackview unit can run Windows 11 natively.

Installed Windows 11 25H2 on the old desktop PC, and found that there is little real-world performance difference between the two.
