Windows 7 out in 18 months

Operation 'Copy Apple', they're getting desperate

and how would a company with such a large market share be desperate?

If they are not desperate, they should be... the critically poor reception of Vista should at least send them back to the drawing board

You do know that Vista has outsold the entire Mac userbase, right? As sexy as Apple's products may be, Microsoft sell far more copies of Windows than Apple do of Mac OS.

haha. what a frakking joke. clutching at straws, releasing another, well, release - instead of fixing vista, byvoorbeeld.

i mean, what is this **** anyway? back to numbering now that vista backfired? how about admitting all their mistakes and releasing windows 3.2 instead. ha.

Nah, the table concept works off 2 high res stereo vision cameras.
You can scan a doc off it by simply placing it on the table too.
2 cameras looking at a plane will have a point converge when it touches the plane. Because of this you can cheaply produce a multi touch surface with an infinate amount of contact points. They see this as a prodominant PC for homes in the future since it is like a coffee table in the lounge. Not so much intended for mobile devices.

You should see the vid... really impressive. I think some student at MIT came up with the original concept.

Yeah, saw the vid.
U used an iPhone?

lol, i see, vista really might have been that one thing that destroys the whole of MS, I mean, how can you release a newer os so soon after vista had been released?

Umm. Remember Windows ME? MS will die when the world explodes, till then it's here to stay, like it or not. I'm in the "not" camp.

Indeed I have. Except couldnt find a spot to place my digital camera it so it could throw the images onto the desktop for filing.

And my A3 scan could quiiiite fit on the screen.

Nore could I sync my other phone on it by simply placing it on the surface and flicking the bits of data I wanted onto the surface.

But yeah, they are totally the same.

Muppet! It is a totally new concept in computing, and has never been seen before and was in development long before the iPhone was ever conceived. Dont try pretend Apple thought of it first. A very clever little chinese dude came up with it initally as a whiteboard concept. He is now probably VERY rich and MS is making a viable product from it.

yeah, almost;)
Using a multi-touch interface users will be able to do things such as zoom in on pictures using two fingers, pan across them or even flip them over.

If the release of Windows 7 is going to be anything like it was with Vista, I will be laughing my ass off. Again. Vista was such a let down initially. All the excitement and then half the stuff didn't work and yada yada. Was like an abortion gone wrong. Let's just hope Windows 7 isn't like this.

No! Really? Are you sure?

Microsoft has hardly sold any copies of Windows Vista! How many people do you know who went out and bought it off the shelf?

lots of COMPUTERS have been sold that just happen to have Vista installed... not exactly the same thing ... is it? And that is really the only place that MS is "selling" Vista.

The Mac user base has always been small compared to Windows, you have to compare Windows to Windows... and MS has released a steaming pile of Iguana Guano that has been received with all the enthusiasm of a Sequel to Gigli, starring Ben Affleck and J-Lo! :p

Apple is for elite type people.

The evil scamming company M$ claims to have sold 140 million copies of Vista since it's launch...

Apple is for elite type people.

Rofl. Apples are for eating. M$ is what you make toilet paper from. Linux is for professionals and others alike. More for use professionals though.

If u like to write your own software, and you're cheap then Linux is for u.

you mean sheeple?

Apple users are the worst kind of fanboys you can find! :p

Apple could take a 9600 baud modem and put it in a fancy schmancy piece of plastic and aluminum and the fanboys would be drooling over it as the latest piece of hardware to fall from Heaven! ;)

Of course.
Haven't seen a thread where Mac fanboys are showing off some software that emulates Linux or Windows desktops yet.:p

Actually, they did that didn't they? What speed does the iPhone run at? :D

Orly... how many people have gone out and bought the Mac OS off the shelf?

LOL... Pwnd!

Yet for some reason it sells more than Apple....

LOL... Pwnd^2

XP for me and by the time Windows 7 comes out - hopefully onto Linux (for me) and MacOS for my parents (well... it's the learning curve - you know what they say about old dogs and new tricks?)

Personally, I don't think I'll ever convert to Mac, it's just too restrictive. I mean come on - no chopping and changing of PC parts? AAAAAAAAAARGH! Linux with decent windows emulation (just for the games) and I will be one happy chappy. Until then - always have a spare XP disc lying around :)

what does that have to do with the price of eggs? WTH are you talking about? Who give a rat's tushie about the Mac OS?

I wasn't the one who brought up Mac OS... somebody else said something about that. Got nothing to do with this argument. Pwnd? is that a word that adults use?
