Hi,

Since I upgraded to windows 7 the computer is slow.

I have IPview and 6 IP cameras recording to a 2nd hard drive. I thought this was slowing down the computer. So I bought a new hard drive, which has a bigger cache and supposed to write faster.

Now the computer is still slow. I examined the 2nd hard drive and have 1481 fragmented files. That is since this morning. Why with 6 cameras recording, there are some files broken into 33 fragments, and is this why the computer is slow?

It is supposed to record up to 10mb file size, before starting a new file. Each camera saves in its own folder. Would it work better if I partitioned the drive into 6 partitions so each camera records in its own partition?

Why did windows xp seem to run better? Its something to do with IPView. Every other program performance has improved since upgrade to windows 7 but if ipview is on the whole computer runs slower than under xp?

This seems crazy.

I feel a little foolish, I found the problem, I forgot to add IPview program folder + second hard drive to the AV exclusion list. now its running like a dream.
