Windows 7 Ultimate RC1 Build 7057

Any of you guys tried this one?

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate RC1 Build 7057 x86

After researching this, there is no confirmation that this is the actual RC build. It is probably a pre-rc!

BTW the link you provided is ironic for me, since I used to do that sites Linux News!

It's not pre-rc. I have worked with every single version that came out starting with the one that MS gave out at a conference last year that was never publicly available, and kept on top of the changes from one to the next. This one contains the following details:

7057 not seen it but i am not downloading it again and installing for the third time lol.

The changes are so slight i would not even bother with it :)

I also worked with every version btw! Hell even did the same for Vista (and then there were a lot more)

This is not the RC edition, there will be at least another build. The RC is only supposed to arrive in April. With respect the details you gave say nothing that confirms it is RC.

Until an official RC is released from Microsoft, this build is just a pre-rc. Plus I doubt a RC build will have the notepad opening up bug that 7058 suffers from.

I am not saying it is THE final release candidate, merely that it is ONE of them, meaning most changes have been finalized now. Internally with Microsoft there will still be one or two versions that will be worked on that will also contain the rc tag before the final rc is sent to the manufacturers.
 
Look its just basically get the small bugs out of the system, something they normally do not anyhow.

Windows 7 is ready for release and i hope MS drop windows 7 by june :).

Well build 7000 (beta) is pretty much the last build where new features were added. (Just as Microsoft had announced)

This build is just ironing out bugs before RC1 hits our scenes. I am looking forward to the actual RC and of cause the eventual RTM edition. However I am starting to think RTM will only be towards the end of the year.

To be honest I am waiting for the x64 7058 to be released before I test drive. However I am enjoying 7048 a lot. Microsoft might have a winner on their hands this time.

Ready for release, I would like to agree. However more testing will be required and the last GUI changes put in place. However to give credit Windows 7 builds so far have been far more stable than Vista was when it came out:eek:

I would rather wait another 6 months before Windows 7 is released and get something extremely stable than rushed to be released and needs a service pack before it is usable.
 
No i think it basically ready, small silly things to sort but it's ready.

Vista made windows 7 this good because drivers are everywhere.
I am using windows 7 and it is totally stable and runs everything exactly like vista did. Nothing unstable about this at all infact i am loving it and would purchase windows 7 tomorrow if i could :)
