Windows 7 X64

mmm seems like you def getting an awesome speed considering you syncing at 2meg ... damn international is crawling this morn :( ... just start loading your programs on win7, etc and see if your speed is maintained ...

Thanks necuno that worked!! And it is noticeably faster in dx9 mode...somehow the textures are slightly worse tho. Oh well at least it's fast now.

Hmm not sure bud, but it is flying. My speed is generally ok but nothing like this.

how u guys finding win 7? Buggy? or fairly stable?
32-bit awesome awesome awesome, not particularly faster than XP was/is but certainly more user friendly and a lot more efficient then Vista.

Not a big fan of 64-bit though, loaded on my laptop and it wasn't significantly (if at all) quicker or better than 32-bit. In fact the system crashed on a couple of occasions but this occurred while my daughter of 3 was mucking around with paint so could have been her erratic left and right clicks...

Note to the dude who's having issues with Crysis...

I don't know if NVIDIA has the same problem, but the ATI 9.5 drivers (sometimes?) don't install properly. Windows 7 kept using the default WDM driver until I manually told it to use the new .inf in the ATI folder. The Catalyst Control Centre wouldn't launch etc, and obviously games would have run much slower.

Not sure it's related, but that was my mileage anyway. :p

Once I sorted out that issue, Windows 7 became very, very fast.

Ok how did you go about sorting that out? I don't find win7 slow generally though.
