Windows 8 "we couldn't process your order"

To the others, please excuse this excursion off the topic.

There are fanbois and then there are lapdogs.

I see on the site you publicise in your sig that you are on MS's BizSpark program. I take my hat off to you for that - quite an achievement. But...

As I understand that program, you get a whole pile of stuff ( software, access en watookal ) from MS for free. The only other business I have encountered on it also received a nice fat pile of cash too. Did you get MS funding? All this provided not out of MS's altruism believe me - MS don't really do altruism. Rather, out of marketing, and possibly the hope that someone somewhere writes some killer app.

So, you have a small business that is effectively being funded ( in cash and/or kind ) by Microsoft, which you don't come clean on and then accuse me of spreading FUD.

"Yo, Fluffy!" ( Fluffy is my vicious killer Toy Pom ), "Bare them fangs girl, there's lapdogs about!"

PS. Vista was a stuffup of note. A pile of dogpoo is better than Vista. Chernobyl was better than Vista. Why? Because NOTHING is worse than Vista. :p

PPS. I'm glad you like Win8 - you must let Steve know - he'll be so happy somebody actually likes it.

Hmmm, I've never heard of a company getting funded my MS through the BizSpark. I get all my software for free for myself and employees, and servers. I also get some Azure hosting free, but it's not much more that enough to run a simple service so I've never used it in production.
I help MS out with some training and hackathons for students, but that is because I like helping out young people, MS doesn't pay me for that.
To be 100% clear, I have never received a single cent from Microsoft ever.
To be even clearer, Microsoft has given me software and a single Windows Phone (entry level). That is all.
By the agreement we have with Bizspark I could spend every waking second trashing MS on ever public platform there is, and I would still get my software. So no, I have no monetary/in-kind allegiance to them.
p.s. There was a single instance of work I did for MS years ago which I got publicity for. No money or hardware etc was exchanged. (just for full disclosure).

Yes, Vista was a crappy "attempt" at an OS. I hated ever second of it, and as far as I remember went back to XP until the beta of 7. I think even Windows ME may have been better than Vista :P. My point was that it still sold.

I always liked Fluffy the 3 headed dog from Harry Potter.

Well I installed Win 8 on a VM and I really don't know what all the hub bub is all about. It really is not THAT bad. Sure the start menu being different is maybe not ideal for everyone, but it works. And with a Start bar launcher app I can't see the problem. Speed is impressive.

After using Win 8 for about a day now I can honestly say this guy is A: an idiot B: not actually a techie or C: just full of Sh1ite! D: all of the above

It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this OS out. Yes its different, but for gods sake its not difficult by any stretch of the imagination.

Has he never heard of google? I watched 1 3 min clip on Win 8 and I knew exactly where everything was.

Lol, that exactly the thing, it really is not that much different. As you use it more you'll figure out some awesome little shortcuts to make things easier and faster.

If people can't realize that Windows 8 is a tablet OS, then I'm afraid there's nothing that's gonna change that.

But please just tell me what is so cool about Windows 8, as at the boot screen animation Windows 7 already wins. :D

If the metro apps (calendar, people, store, etc) wows you, then you'll see that it looks absolutely useless on a 24'' display....note the HUGE white spaces.

I can go on, but think I'll withdraw from the Win 7 and 8 debates now.
