Winter is almost here...

Winter has already passed, and I realized (just by seeing people on the street) that most don't really think about how they look in winter. I know it's way more important to feel comfortable, but still. People just throw on a jacket and that's it.
And it's really not that hard, with a bit of research, you can find tips on how to dress well.

Thankfully, no one cares what you think.

How? Highveld winters are pretty mild with maybe one or two dips below 0. Luckily no rain either

Reasons Why I Hate Jhb Winter:

The landscape and sky is brown. The air always smells like something is burning somewhere. It's dry AF and there won't be a drop of rain for months. The sun cooks you in the car but upon exiting, the body regrets its decision to produce sweat at all. Being part of an outdoor society, life feels just a little more closed off. Short days are depressing. During cold fronts we're always reminded of how our homes aren't built for it but at least in the past running an oil heater in the evenings wouldn't bankrupt a person...

I could go on... :p

Having said all that, for every other season I believe the highveld climate to be the best.

Granted, will give you the dry air, that is annoying af.
The cold isn't really that bad, but yes our houses aren't designed for the cold, probably due to the fact that it's like 3 days a year where it's really needed.
Surprisingly even with the shorter days, still produce roughly the same amount of solar energy, cause no freaking lazy clouds blocking the sun for no reason, if they actually rained sure.
Winter is nicer due to a simple reason, I can dress up more or put on blankets if it's cold, when it's hot I can't really take off a whole lot, then you need to find ways to keep you cool and hydrated. Then when it does rain the humidity goes up and now you're sort of sweating but you're not.

I think I'm learning to cope with winter by doing some house chores. Like washing dishes or cleaning the house in the morning gets me warmed up.

Any take on the weekend cold incoming?
Gauteng will be snowed in. A national disaster will ensue. Looting and street braais in the white fluffy stuff will be the order of the day. Buy ammo and meat today.

Get an electric blanket for each person. On the lowest setting at 15 watts, you will heat up very fast.

Do you think eskom can handle the cold? they will need a electric blanket for each lump of coal.
