Hi,

We are busy implementing a new business management system.

For us to do this, we need to implement a complete new network.

We've got to buildings. Offices in one building and a warehouse in a different building. We will have the server and one additional user in the office and then two users controlling stock and capturing invoices etc in the warehouse.

The distance between these two buildings is approximately 110m. There are a couple of trees and a parking lot between these buildings, but mainly a clear line of site.

Our internet connection in the warehouse is currrently obtained via a 3G wifi hotspot (Huawei) and we would like to initially retain this 3G internet connection as our main network internet connection, seeing that there is still 20 months left on the contract. Also, currently there is no additional ADSL lines available in our area according to Telkom.

How can we set up this wifi network and which 3G router/modem and access points should we buy to set this up as reliable as possible?

Thanks,

If you have line of site setup a connection with two sxt's or get advice from scoop distribution

Pair of Ubiquiti Nanostations to link office & warehouse. 5 port switch in the office to link Nanostation, server & user. For the warehouse, exactly what Huawei device do you have?

You could use Mikrotik or Ubiquiti devices for the link.

I would suggest 2.4Ghz as it offers better penetration characteristics for line of site issues as mentioned above. As the distance is very short you should easily be able to get away with using 2x LocoM2's or SXT2's.

If you are not familiar with Mikrotik products I would recommend the Loco purely because the setup is simpler.

The devices can be installed outdoor and cabled in at both ends.

If you require installation assistance we can recommend reliable installers from our client base.

Hi.

So in the end we just used astandard router and fitted an external antenna with a 250m range.

On the other end we have 2 bars signal, which we just boost with a range extender.

Works excellent.
