We have a wireless network (Canyon Wireless 11g AP router) and up until it has been working really smoothly. A new colleague started working here at the beginning of the month and for some reason his laptop doesn't "see" the wireless network. I've tried everything I can think of - but no luck.

Any ideas?

To work out if the problem is with your WAP or his laptop: Can his laptop see other wireless networks?

What make and model laptop does he have? Make sure the lpatop wireless receiver is switched on - normally a button on the side of the laptop or a key-combination.

Hi Franna

The laptop is a Compaq with Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG adaptor. His laptop can see other networks, and the hardware switch is on.

Is the wireless router not maybe in "hidden SSID" mode. Login to the wireless router to check this setting.

SSID broadcast is set to enabled.

I'll give the Windows update a go - hopefully that'll fix it :)
