Wireless Wifi Adapter/Extender

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to use an old router as a wireless wifi range extender? I'm slightly confused, some articles say you need an Ethernet cable between the primary router and extender router but others say this is not necessary. Does anyone know more about this, or maybe has a similar set up? All help will be appreciated.

Depends on the range and signal between the two routers. If the extender is getting low quality signal from the primary router then you would need to use Ethernet between the 2 routers.

Ie. If it's receiving crap it's going to be extending crap.

What you are looking for is Bridge Mode, just google it for the router you have; here's an example:

Your router needs to support bridge mode though.
