Wits student poll question

Awu suka madoda! And then privilege spoke.

We are the student body and the elected SRC. Why does the so called silent majority suddenly have an opinion when they didn't while electing the SRC which is now carrying out a mandate.

No reality spoke... there is no priviledge involved

The poll will show they have lost their mandate.

Haha I must say, I understand the cause.

But I don't agree with the way they have gone about it. Why not attack the government itself?

The universities have nothing to do with it. The government has all to do with payment.

Does me agreeing with them, mean I'm privileged too? Again why aren't you marching to Luthuli House or Union buildings again?
What is being gained from burning varsities?

Most students don't care about the SRC. That is why so few bother to ever vote for candidates. The SRC doesn't really represent the average student at our universities and you know it. Just let the students have their say, what are you afraid of?... that the vast majority will tell the rioters to sod off?

The student body is the student body. The rioters are just one small part of the student body.

Their mandate is to listen to everyone. Not just who they think voted for them.

They will carry out the mandate given to them.

Privilege is privilege bro. Luthuli House - playing into factionalism and simultaneously pointless.
Union Buildings - See tomorrows schedule.

Sammy does not understand what damage he is doing to his own future.

Ok

Ok

What mandate was given to them, how and by whom?

1. What's the mandate, where can we find it?
2. This when I ask what privilege ? Since I grew up in Soweto? Please tell me more :)

Must be lies, this can't be real... you must be a spy with a fird thorce agenda!

And your reality is a privileged one

And who's fault is that they they don't care about the SRC. Clearly the SRC's have been shown to hold sway, why the not vote for whoever would be against the current sitting SRC's. Something like the Wits funded, Wits controlled Project W.

And can anyone referring to riots refer to the other thread.

Well you inhabit the same reality my son...

As for the SRC, I was at varsity to study and get a degree, I was not there to give a shyte about politics and would have been pissed off if politics got in the way of my studying.

He does have a point though. The same logic is used in elections, people don't vote but rather choose to complain.

1. It's one of Free Education. Ask the SRC
2. Growing up in Soweto doesn't make you less privileged. Privilege is neither defined by suburb nor township

No he doesn't.

General elections have a direct impact on your life...

The SRC elections at varsity should have no direct impact on my studying.

1. You said there is one and we should have it. Where is it?

2. Then what is privilege because your example was of a poor student that didn't have the means and the elitists that have money to vote 'yes'. Does my having airtime mean I'm privileged ? And does you swearing in response to that SMS not make you the elitist since you have the means to waste the opportunity?
