Yes.
We can all foresee that a Monday start will be problematic and some protestors will continue to attempt violent disruption. Therefore it is likely that private security will be present, at great expense to Wits.
As we know, many protestors are able to use the "struggle credentials" gained in these protests for leverage in their future political ambitions. In this sense, a good beating at the hands of private security functions in much the same way as a formal university qualification. I therefore suggest that Wits monetise and formalise the system of beating students, and add it to the list of qualifications offered. Such beatings could occur in a non-disruptive location, and, if the students were charged, both University and student could benefit.
Fees would depend on costs incurred (this programme should be sustainable, not cross-subsidised), and could range from R5000 for a light beating and three publicity shots to R20,000 for a full fifteen minute beating, viral video and night in jail.
