Women developers

Well here at work I can count 8 full time developers, 3 of which are women. Interestingly enough, they are all on the maintenance team (as opposed to the project team).

In my previous project (working on SAP), I worked as part of a 18-strong team, of which 7 were women (all devs). I don't see a shortage... ;)

Too true. And you guys think that's s joke?

IME (e for experience) women programmers/developers can't cut it. I'm not saying they CANT program/develop... but I haven't found one yet that makes a piece of code so ****ing impossible to understand like only a woman can.

1 function to rule them all... yet... there I have to go through several DLL's just to "follow the white rabbit" and see where to fix ****... just a pain in the ass if you have 1000000 other things to do.

And don't even get me started with them as Business Analysts

Sure, she went to varsity for like a billion years and everything... doesn't mean she can't think through and see the bigger picture without 1 simple thing blocking her "view"

They make damn good coffee though...

I remember in computer science at school and university the girls were always strong on the "theory" stuff and fell behind on the practical stuff. And vice versa for the guys.

In a previous company, I found they were happy to have male programmers assist them. One even asked her bf and came back to present the results as her own! Maybe the guy hiring them wasn't looking at their CVs, just their boobs.

Well female developers are on the rise. Our office has 2 and 11 males. The reality is that female developers are more productive than male developers.

They also have a different approach and excel in certain fields. They also have very good attention to detail without being anal about it :-)

Yes, they excel in Excel. :p

Source or is this just your opinion?

Yes SOURCE CODE of course :D The two female developers we have are way more productive than half the office.

The one developer does the work of two experienced guys - the 3 are on the same project.

The other is doing the same work as the other 3 guys on another project. All 4 have the same amount of years experience. She is a single mom too while the other guys are all just single :D
