Wootware Increases prices after I view Product

Hi.

A few days ago I began searching for relevant PC parts to build a new PC.

I found some Okay deals, some from wootware.

I have been occasionally checking in the product pages to check the specs and info to make sure it's what I want every day.
Fast forward to now, I check the products out again and most have increased by R50 each.

No other company does this, it isnt a coincidence the exact products I've been viewing have increased in price.

That is shady AF.

Post some links here and let other members confirm the pricing.

Might be leading up to that scam black friday.

Rand Dollar Flux? I've one particular product like 20 times and it stayed the same...
 
They actually do this, saw it last year during the massive dollar fluctuations.

So with every other company, one can check the price, and ala-schrödinger's cat, the price will never increase?
 
Wootware is genrally very good, I build a PC and asked for discount was able to get an extra R500 off, will definitely check to see if prices change after viewing

Clearly you're cursed. Just stay away from Takealot on black Friday. I don't need you increasing the prices with your bad juju
 
The Rand/Dollar rate has fluctuated insanely in the past few weeks, we're quoting with 24 hour validity at the moment which is a pain. (pricing changing on a daily basis)

What I HAVE noticed wootware doing, is selling the first X units of something at a lower cost.
I've had this happen twice where I'll have something in a cart while on the phone with a friend who is buying the same thing, they check out first, and the cost of my items goes up slightly, the times where this has happened I've sent them a mail & they've let me checkout using my carts price.

What I haven't noticed them doing, is increasing the price on a "just for you" basis where the more you view something the higher the price is, my friends and I all get the same prices for stuff when we're looking, and even browsing on my cell phone on a different network in a private browsing session, still see the same prices listed.

I recently bought this wootbook for R14,999

a month later, with rate of exchange (and probably demand?) the price has gone up to R16,999.
equally, I've had the same problem where price goes down after I've bought something. (RAM especially)

In the same sense, the wootbook metal 15 has nearly gone up by R5000 in price since it launched at R10,000 and is now R15000

It may be a good or a bad thing but at least they are proactive with updating their pricing.
 
I had the 10400F jump from R2550 to R3750. Was told by the Wootware that the increase came from the Supplier's (Distributor) side. Ended up ordering the CPU from Dreamware.

Remember that Wootware acts as the Retailer. If their Distributors change their prices once a certain batch of stock runs out, then they will need to change prices themselves. You can't expect them to take the loss.
 
Vox Telecom tried this with me once...
I have this habit of screen-capping things I want because I have some disorders where I forget stuff and notebooks don't work.
Around this time of year in 2018.. Vox Telecom increased the price, and then suddenly the product disappeared off the website... and they told me no they never sold such an item.
I eventually got them to sell it to me not only at the advertised price, but they had to deliver it too

I'm at a distributor of such components, I can confirm we are price-changing on a daily basis with regards to the rate of exchange.
 
This, a lot of companies adjust prices of imported goods on the daily exchange rate. Probably items not in stock, that they will import when ordered.

What other conspiracy theories do you believe in? Or do you really think that Wootware have you under surveillance to make themselves rich with a few extra fifty Rands?

I have been checking the 5800X out every couple of days. Price stays the same or even goes down.
The only time I've seen the prices increase were for Logitech speakers, and only after a long while.
