Wootware Motherboard Experience

I asked this on the first page but I think it got missed.
Was the motherboard box still sealed when it arrived?
If so - manufacturing/factory defect, as is the trend here - I've had such issues before with MSI boards (which is why I never touch them anymore)

I would definitely ask wootware to open and inspect the next one with pictures for you before they ship.

Sorry I did miss your question,

no the box was opened - like it wasn't sealed. anybody could just open and close it, didn't have to remove any tape or anything

I can't say I've ever recieved such a package from wootware that wasn't labelled as an "open-box"
I can see a load of amazon reviewers talking about receiving this same board in a similar condition with the box being opened and grease marks, etc. (MSI MAG B550M BAZOOKA)

Any reason you didn't get something better/cheaper like the https://www.wootware.co.za/gigabyte...socket-am4-micro-atx-desktop-motherboard.html ?

i have a friend who advises me on which parts to get, not sure why he didn't opt for that one, though i am learning about this stuff myself so i can go about making the correct decisions
 
Love MSI. They’re pretty much the only motherboard manufacturer not making crap Alder Lake boards at the moment.
 
Tbh this thread should probs be titled MSI quality control sucks.

Would guess the first one was customs inspection as proper techie would not have made it that dirty and I haven't seen/heard of anything similar from wootware yet (based off of the three mobos where I needed a flash for the cpu but this all pre 2020), second failed QC from manufactuer. See if ww will accept you swapping to the cheaper board and sending that one back.

They aren’t just bells and whistles though. Some manufacturers like Asrock are selling boards that don’t even meet minimum power spec for CPUs they have listed as supported. A courier damaged board you can send back … rubbish design is forever.

You currently have a 5600g which can run fine on pretty much any b550 mobo, so unless you are planning on upgrading to a 5900x then the bazooka is kind of wasted, it has great VRMs and that's about all it's got going for it , the IO isn't anything special, no integrated IO shield, no type C port

Compared to the Gigabyte B550M AORUS PRO suggested by @Faux_Grey
Gigabyte has an integrated IO shield, Type C port, 3 more USB ports .

Honestly for your CPU I would go for the Gigabyte and save some bucks.

I need a bios flashback button because I only have a laptop not another cpu
