I had classic sinusitis symptoms; congestion, headache, post-nasal drip. The only reason why I went for a test is because I lost my taste/smell. Had I not lost my taste/smell, I'd have gone to work and possible spread it.

I work from home, so don't have much opportunity to spread it, and if I see people I keep my distance when I have symptoms.
I did go for a test once when there were lots of cases, but mostly because my wife works with older people, or people married to immunocompromised people. That was before the vaccine was available.

I'm not making a statement of authority, just pointed out that my innocuous little sinus infection was Covid, so I wouldn't dismiss anything lightly if you are concerned about Covid.

My sinus symptoms cleared up after 3 days and then I was as good as new.

Everything is labeled as COVID-19 these days.... take it from me, don't sneeze in the shops, hold it in... if you fail to hold it in... they'll throw you out the door, or my personal favourite, is the women grab their kids and tell them "Ons moet nou loop daai f0kken d00s is siek en kom winkels toe"

Bull - I have hay fever and constantly sneeze while shopping and I haven't had any hassles... apart from having to change masks because of it.
 
I had a Pick 'n Pay supervisor chase after me when my mask was below my nose. She disappeared when I showed her a couple of staff members with their masks doing nothing more than chin-decorating...
 
I would test - I have 2 kids in school, so out of pure respect (and not fear for our own health) for others, I would then isolate.

The trick is when to test - no one can afford to go for multiple tests throughout the year for every sore throat etc.

I have never heard of kids dying of covid except a case of a girl in kzn who was already severely ill with diabetes and some other conditions that weakened the immune system. She died of the flu.

Your kids will be just fine.
 
Yoh, many people choose to get tested. I would rather just stay home for a day or two if it's that bad.

BTW, I always cover my nose these days - not worth the occasional Karen-looks and maybe I'll save someone from getting a cold.
 
You need another option on the poll.... "I have already been tested" .... many times....

Not for their sake, but for the sake of them spreading it via their school friends..

They have both already had covid, both played it off.
