I'm actually going to have a big mask burning celebration when all this is over.
forced all of us to wear this nonsense and I hated it then as I hate it much more now.

who is with me, It will be like a book burning, only with masks.
Then I'll have to go and buy some masks because I lose the damn things like it's going out of fashion

I said other, I would be wearing a mask in public places like shops etc. I would not be wearing one to work unless working in close proximity to others or outdoors unless in a crowd.

Keep a pack of these in your glove box and then you will always have masks on hand.

Cant call this a Takealot rip off lol, Dischem sells them for like R199, and they were R399 a few months back.

At the height of Lockdown I saw packs of 50X masks going R599. Also those 25ml sanitizer bottles were going for something like R80 a pop.

The Qin Dynasty would be proud but China has evolved since then, can you?

whats worse is a mask policeman saying put your mask on properly, I lower it to be able to see.
feel like carrying around a sledgehammer to smash some skulls when they tell me that rubbish.

still until today, if somebody tells me to put on a mask, I put it on briefly then lower it again,
pointless telling me, I dont care then, like I dont care now.
From the funny picture thread. Feel free to paraphrase this when people tell you to put your muzzle on.

I'm fortunate to now have to wear a mask on the farm. I so seldom go into town. I understand that the mask is there to protect other people from you, so I do see the need to wear one. For the sake of others, until we get this virus under control, I'll wear a mask when I'm going to be around strangers.

You people only have one mask? Bizarre.

Seeing as you appear to be in the know, why do you wear it over your chin?

Point 1 has been handled already:

Sometimes those spares in the car were taken out to be washed... and forgot about them and did not place them back in the car

Point 2, so that is available and one cannot forget it, while being more comfortable.

There are certain places where you are particularly likely to get infected by others at a particularly annoying time. Like on a flight when leaving for a holiday. I suspect if I travel abroad again I will wear a mask on the plane unless I am eating. Otherwise probably not.

Other, depends on where in public, crowded spaces and malls yes, when we are at the beach or parks then no.

Pretty much this, I reckon.

Even when this is all over (until the next one), I suspect I'm going to feel uncomfortable in enclosed public spaces for some time, one way or the other.

Masks do make a difference. There where two good case studies I read last year around infected people wearing masks and despite prolonged exposure no one around them got sick.

First case study was a businessman on a several hour flight somewhere in the east. Was coughing, had covid, but wore his mask properly and none of the many passengers around him got it or tested positive after when they did the post tracks and trace thing.

Second one was two hairdressers in a salon. Between the two of them they cut 50+ people's hair before realizing they where positive but none of the customers caught it and they also where very diligent in wearing masks properly.

It can help a lot.
