So while WWDC has not really been a big product announcement platform, I think that this one will probably see the announcement of the V2 iPhone.

Apple will probably stick to the script they set at the announcement of the iPhone SDK and the Keynote will be dominated by the launch of the new iPhone App Store, which will be standalone and allow global activation and sales of iPhone apps. Anyone for a "Mobile.me" experience?

Otherwise the focus will be on OS X and developer tools.

Any other ideas?

Screw the iPhone, overrated imo. Maybe just cuz I don't have a use for a fancy phone. Really hope they announce OS X 10.6 for a release late this year! OS X is my reason for living :P

there's speculation of leopard not only running on macs. obviously the 3G (HSDPA) iPhone will be launched and that will be the focal point. The iTunes "enhancement" of the apps for free/sale for the new iPhone (v2.0 for the 1G iPhone).

Interesting for SA is that the iPhone should be subsidised by Vodacom/Vodafone so the price won't be as much as some people might think. Also there will be 2 versions of the phone, potentially a smaller screen (2.8") and one larger (3.2") which have different capacities and focus points. Only time will tell I guess if that's true.

Macrumors and Apple Insider have all the talked about items.

Well if you look at the invite for WWDC this year (Apple always gives clues in the invite) it showed a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge thats starts at one point and then splits to be 2 separate bridges. Now since WWDC is supposed to focus on development I reckon the focus this year will be on the split between OSX and iPhoneOS as 2 separate business entities/strategies. Oh, and I'd be very surprised not to see a 3G iPhone at 7PM tonight :)

I think they will divide it up into 4 parts like they did for macworld 08.

Part 1: iPhone
Two iphone models including the 3G edition
App store
Demo of Apps and new features ie: GPS

Part 2: OS X
Roadmap for 10.6
Possible new "switcher" Mac - Mac Fusion http://www.tuaw.com/2008/06/08/rumor-mac-fusion-a-new-developer-mac/

Part 3: Mobile Me previously .Mac

Part 4: And one more thing - expect the unexpected like a multi touch tablet that docks into a cinema display...

Thats my prediction! Its mostly plausible just maybe not Part 4.

I still want my Sony Vaio TZ sized MacBook Pro. In case you don't know how small that is, look at
picture. It's barely larger than an ASUS EEEPC and way more powerful.
