Xbox One

Meh, only Fable 3 interests me.
I suppose games like rugby and cricket wont ever become available.

Apparently it's very unlikely that any sports games will get BC due to their complex licensing. Publishers sign agreements with domestic and international sporting associations as well as players and a host of other entities, and all of them are done for a specific platform (ie. Xbox 360). So trying to re-negotiate them for release onto Xbox One, even though it's still the same game, is a real headache, and likely won't happen.

Well fck.

Ah.

Now everything makes sense.

You're a jock gamer:

A Person who's gaming library consists almost entirely of Madden (and various other sports games) and Popular First Person Shooters such as Halo and Call of Duty. The Xbox 360 is generally their console of choice.
Person 1: Hey you should play the new Legend of Zelda its pretty sweet.
Jock Gamer: **** that **** dude I like to pay $60 for the same game every year. Madden 10 baby!!!!

Have both a Xbox One and a PS4 and the PS4 is collecting dust.

Xbox has:

Much better controller
Better games library (imo)
Xbox Live
New UI is fantastic
Backwards compatible with Xbox 360
Better quality party chat

Not to mention streaming + Plex, windows 10 multiple device integration, I get +- 30 hours game play on my remote before it needs charging compared to 6 hours on the PS4 remote. I can plug in a external drive if i run out of space. It has a HDMI in, better connectivity in general, Skype + better apps. The Hololens is also around the corner.
The Kinetic is also much better than the PS4 eye.

The first time I needed to recharge my ps4 controller I though to myself WTF this can't be be right, It's only been a few hours.

Eish, just as i was looking to get the Xbox one with Kinect from FNB they decide not offer the kinect bundle :(

You mean like run Xcom 2, Dota and excel?

Come on now. Now you're just being ridiculous.

You do realize that is possible now with Windows Universal apps? The same executable that runs on your desktop, runs on your Win 10 phone and Xbox, and adjusts according to the device it is on.

I'm also considering this offer from IC - the problem is, I'm not buying it... It's being bought for me, so I've been offered the XBOX 1 by my GF - but it's that or PS4... I don't know consoles.

At the end of the day, I want a console that allow me to do those exercise games and play with my GF.

For the exercise games you want the kinect, and that's about R2500.
The standard price for the kinect xbone bundle is R6500, so you should wait for the kinect bundle to go on sale somewhere.

Also, it seems that the PS4 won't get exercise games, so that narrows your choice in console down to one.

I am an MS fanboy (even have a windows phone), but I still choose the PS4 over the xbone. I just like games like Bloodborne more than games like Titanfall on console. Most xbone games will anyway be on PC as well, so no use buying an xbone for me.

On backwards compatibility, life's too short to play old games on a new console. And I will keep my PS3 anyway.

As of yesterday, you don't need the Kinect for MS fitness.

Wouldn't underestimate it, especially for story-driven games where past choices can affect the story for future games...

True. Most games worth playing are available as remastered games, or will be multi-plat, like Mass Effect for example. So if you have an old console you should be fine.
I tried to play God of War HD after playing GoW3... and it was one big no thank you. I then watched the GoW storyline on youtube. Did the same with MGS.
