Xbox Series X / S

I've not turned mine on this week thanks to the shed. I've also been tinkering on my PC bought an nvme that disabled 2 of my Sata ports so need to move the other M2 out.

I was retro gaming (Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty on da PS3)

For same reason. Replacing a PS3 is cheaper than a new Xbox.

Why are you downloading Zombie Army on PS4? It's free on Xbox? I've had those two Abe's probably since about 2007 when I saw them in a Cashies, prices are still on the back cost me R144 for both :-). That's when I still had a PS2 that could easily play PS1 games.

Was on PS Plus, ie: "free" as well ;)

On the account that I move around a lot back then, I Rip'ed all my games. No idea where the physical copies ended up. Might even be in a dump in some foreign country.

Aaaah :) trying to proof to the PS crew that you're not biased as they believed.

Have nothing to prove. If its free, I'll claim it. If I want to play it, I'll play it. Have no allegiance to some corporation. My allegiance is to my wallet :D

Hence me yapping about GamePass all the time, cause man that is a deal you can not ignore.

Yeah I've been playing no mans sky and it was free.

Only have 4 hour playtime of that on Steam back in 2019... not a fan, but then don't like the whole open world survival craft games. More the Mrs cup of tea.
It's changed quite a bit since, but yeah it is survival and I'm loving it

Just a question on controllers..
Our kids are destroyers of any form of remotes. Tiled floor and an intense ability to drop stuff every 15 seconds..
We are wanting to get an XBox Series S for Fat Red Guy Day, but the remotes are like R1500 a pop.
Are you able to run a "Generic Series S" controller?
Them cheepies for around R400-R500 bux?

You can pick up second hand One controllers for about that price on FB and cash crusaders and such. No idea on those generics but more then likely they'll be crap.
The controllers can survive quite a bit actually.
On another topic the Series X can chomp up to 200W of power when playing Gears 5. Normally my TV, Soundbar and Xbox uses about 350w,but fire up Gears 5 and 450.

Ahhhhh, sweeeeet!
Thanks Lupus!
I didn't think of second hand One controllers. Those do work right up to the X. The Cash Crusaders' around here, don't sell beat up stuff, so defo gonna look in to that.

And 200W? Daaaaaaamn! Games are getting hungry

Yup the newer ones do seem to ramp up the power usage, older games it can go as low as like 85.
Oh on the 2nd hand controllers make sure they are rev 3, 1708

/me smiles in Series S 50W :p

My 58"TV on the other hand gobbles up 200W easy :(

PS: have seen the PS5 use 300W on its own, playing Spiderboy. Pretty sure that 200W @Lupus reports was probably an older game.
Nope it was Gears 5.

A new report from the Natural Resources Defence Council found that the PS5 and Xbox Series X draw between 160 and 200 watts of electricity per hour when playing current games, marking a significant uptick on the energy usage of their predecessors.

My 65" seems to be a bit more efficient as it's around 150w with local dimming at high.
