Anyone here own both the XBX and PS5? Is there any reason to pick up a PS5 at this point?
I think I've got everything covered between the PC, XBX and Switch. Most of the PS exclusives end up on PC anyway.

Rumour has it that a PS5 Pro might be arriving in the next year or two. If you can wait for E3/the next Sony event to see what announcements they make about a hardware refresh.
Long story short, PS5 might be cheaper after the PS5 Pro launches, so if you are considering getting one, wait a bit.

We have the holy trinity

Xbox Series X <-- Primary game console cause of GamePass and cheaper games
PS5 <-- Primary Media Center cause of Media Remote
Nintendo Switch <-- Mobile gaming. Well mostly so Mrs can continue playing when I hog the TV.

One word, and one word only: Exclusives.
If you don't want to play them, then no, no need to also have a PS5.

From what I have seen its not gonna be a pro but more a slim. Current rumor turns around 7-5nm chip for less power as well as split off Bluray drive so that they can lower entry cost, with the ability to buy later.

Those reports are weird, I can understand the node shrink, but doesn't the base PS5 not include a disk drive... or any they only going to manufacture the base model and then sell the disk drive as an add on instead the higher priced PS5

Yeah I think if you have a PC there probably isn’t any major reason to get a PS5.

The Dual Sense is amazing and adds another dimension even with the analog sticks being wrong and in the wrong place, but even so it’s a minor point to the PS5 where the Xbox really makes no effort at all really.

UI is sexy but deeply impractical in many ways. Cloud service is a joke, but this kind of only matters on first use if you had a PS3/4.

Parental Controls are a joke, but likely not an issue for most.

I’m literally using it for a handful of exclusive games and some stuff that is free on PS+ but not Game Pass and that’s it.

As a package the value is pretty bad. The PS5 official headset for instance costs the same as the Xbox one but should be half the price as it’s a cheap piece of crap missing features compared to the Xbox unit.

This is the case across the board when you start comparing Game Pass to PS+ etc as well. Especially in SA where PS3 games don’t work.

Oh would also be nice if companies like Blizzard realised cross platform is where it is at. I mean I bought Diablo 2 ressurected on the Xbox, can't play it on PC :-(. But things like No mans sky, Gears 5, the Ascent, Aliens and others do work perfectly between both.

Picked up Spiderman so would love to play it with all the fancy options enabled.

That is massively annoying. Got D2R on the Switch and PC but can't be bothered to play 2 different chars

Yup insanely annoying, especially since other games I can carry over most progress. But nope Blizzard is like nooooo.

All the Series S needs is a cheaper way to expand the dam storage. Cause F me em expansion cards are pricy.

Across all 3 consoles I only have 2 physical games, and both are for the Switch. Besides physical media in SA is a joke.

I'm talking blu-rays and DVDS, as you cannot buy Blu-ray players in this country easily anymore. In fact the cheapest uhd blu ray player is a second hand Xbox One S.

D4 will be cross-platform and fully synchronized.

What I'm hoping for is that they close off the Blizzard/Activision deal and add it to GamePass. That would be marvelous considering the ridiculous price tag.

The 365Gb of space you get with it is the primary reason I upgraded to an X

I was very happy with a S on a 43" 1080p TV but needed more space. Back then paying R5K for 1TB card vs Selling my S and using the R5K to buy an X instead was a no brainer.
