Xbox Series X / S

Seems like Hi-Fi Rush is drawing great early reviews. Definitely on my list now...

Takes you back to the 90's/early 2000's when you played the game demo without having been exposed to reviews from "gaming" journalists and made up your own mind if you wanted to play the full game or not.

Not related to the reviews, but speaking of the 90s, it reminds me a lot of Comix Zone which was one of my favourite 90s games...

that looks pretty sweet actually.

hopefully it works/runs great on PC with controller

Quite enjoying Hi-Fi Rush so far. Definitely playing into the stereotype that white have no rhythm though :)

In spite of that, can't help playing with the foot tapping away

In the beginning I was struggling with getting the timing of the combos right.

The game gives you alot of assistance including a rhythm bar which you can toggle on and off in the settings. Even the environment moves to the beat!

For me what worked was ignoring all the rhythm input assistance...

Actually listening to the beat helped alot including tapping my feet while playing to get the rhythm of the combos perfect.

Man this game is breath of fresh air for me, really enjoying this.

So between other games I always go back to Civ 6. Also a handy game when you only have little bits of time here and there.

So far it has run very well on the Series S but I decided to try playing with a large map with 8 Civs and goodness the crashing is insane from around 230 turns into the game. Literally if the game doesn't now crash every turn I am lucky. It's forcing me to save constantly.

I like the Gathering Storm expansion and use the secret society, monopoly and heroes options switched on without issue. But the game really hates large maps. I'm only persisting with this playthrough as I feel I am well positioned

If I didn't already own the UBI titles I love, would have been all over this.
For someone who hasn't played them, it's a great deal. Just that time sink. You will play nothing else for the next decade trying to get full value out of that sub.

eg. 3 years later and Division 2 is still terrific with so much to do.

edit: hmm.,.. I haven't played Watchdogs, Far Cry 6, Riders republic etc

Problem is, they normally on sale for waaay less than a monthly sub (If rumoured $10 p/m = true)

I look forward to Atomic Heart! It looks very interesting.
Very stoked for it. Hope it's what we expect.

On another note also very disappointed in DARKTIDE supposedly console release. Was a game i have been drooling over since announced. Loved all the VERMINTIDE games, and was so excited for it. The delays have pushed it out of contention for my attention now, what with all the games we have been waiting for releasing.
