Xbox Series X / S

It's still a PC experience as much as they try and make it almost like a console one. Boot times are longer, it takes longer to get into a game and there's no quick resume. The console is designed for a living room, the PC one isn't as much as they can try...

Aren't these teething issues that immutable distros like SteamOS and Bazzite, among various others, are set to resolve? Windows is already ushering DX technologies that would allow quick resume on resource-intensive machines.

I can mod CachyOS to behave like a console experience. Not a casual user experience, but it can be shaped to that behavior. Ignoring quick-resume, that save state would take up too much disk space.

Where?

Cause:
$999.00 = R17 423 + 15% Vat = R20 036.45
And that is excluding import duties and/or local seller's profit.

Bought my 1st gen Ally directly from them too.

Hmm really pricey in the US, roughly normal in the UK. Who are these tariffs supposed to punish?

Without tariffs, we would have had cheap cars and no car industry to speak of, so I can see the point in both sides.

Sadly, adding them after the fact gonna hurt the consumer, with no pro's in creating jobs. Only companies that gonna go back is the ones that can automate.

USA waited to long to try and fix.

We barely have a car industry now thanks to the costs :-(.
Yeah that is the stupid thing, they added tariffs to protect something that doesn't even exists, if there were jobs doing it in the US then sure, but right now it's just making things really really expensive. I've got a feeling the next guy will erase this tariff thing lickity split.

I’m glad I bought my Ally X when I did, second hand 12k mint condition.

For me, portable PC gaming is a waste at any cost. The only time I play games on the go is when I take the Mrs. shopping, and that is typically 20-30 minute stints. For that, something like an Anbernic/RG36H works perfectly, as it's easy to pocket, and the games on it are a perfect fit.

For intense gaming on the go, I can always use the wife's Switch, and that only happens on holidays anyway.

I mean I wouldn't call the switch intense gaming :-P but sure ;-).
Being able to play things like Mechwarrior 5, Cyberpunk, No Mans sky, BG3 down to freaking games from years gone by on Steam, Epic, MS and whatever playstore is great. Sure it's nowhere near as good looking as my PC or Xbox Series X, but it's a helluva lot better than a switch :-).

I would not play any of those while on holiday :P
