Oh no it's not just me... This generation has sucked. I don't care if Sony sold 92.2 million PS5 consoles, what are people playing on it? Honestly seriously what are they playing? I'm not even concerned or projecting here about the Xbox, it's a general feeling this generation of consoles sucked.


I didn't even need to type in anything about one or the other there, just this console generation and boom it knows it sucked. I mean remember the Wii sold 101 million consoles, but what were people playing on it? Please so what are people playing this generation? What new and exciting games came out for it?

Right now I'm playing Dishonoured 2, Borderlands 4 (Stone Demon bounty pack; new DLC dropping later this month I think) and Diablo 4. I rage-quit D4 S11 a while ago, but I'm thinking I will go back when S12 opens up on 11 March. Then new DLC for D4 in April. **** load of other games I can't get to because D4 is a time sink of note.

It's absolutely irrelevant to me if it's new IP, a remaster or whatever - the only thing that matters is if I'm enjoying myself.

Dishonoured 2 was a pleasant old gem to discover, for example.

Yeah Dishonoured 2 was on the previous generation and PC, good game series give Dishonoured Definitive edition a spin as well :-). Diablo 4 available on previous generation as well, the only game that is from this generation is Borderlands 4. So I go back to, this generation has sucked.
 
@Lupus never tell a console bro they only get 1-2 games a year. Don't do it man. That's like the one thing yo don't ever do. They'll write you an essay how much fun they are having still playing 20 year old IP's.

And yeah yeah flame me for taking a shot at you guys but over here in 5 new releases a day in PC land things aren't much better either because all 5 those releases are kak.

Actually, thinking about it, I recall reading stats about this debate a while back and I'm remembering that something like 40% of console time is spent on Fortnite and the rest on old games, not new ones.

There are far, far more games released on console than "1-2 games a year". That is so wrong it's laughable.

My post clearly went over your head. But that is no surprise :)

You also did not get the contradictions, hypocrisy, inanity and falsehoods in your posts.

So I am not shocked you are running away.

This whole generation is a massive let down. It will be 6 years this year, and the library is pitiful compared to previous gens at the same point in time...

Much like the hardware, there are diminishing returns.

Think about it. There have been decades of highly intelligent, highly creative teams of people trying to come up with new IP.

And what has been the result?

It's not even just about new IP. I will gladly take sequels and even remakes. It takes way too long for games to come out now, that it feels like we're wasting money being early adopters. It took more than half the entire generation for them to finally stop making PS4/X1 games that were holding back the newer consoles. It's been almost 2 whole generations before we get a new GTA...

3 whole generations, GTA5 came out on the 360.
