Xbox Series X / S

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced remote control for the Series S media player? Really just for watching tv shows on the USB stick. I normally watch on a LIT box but the S has just stolen it’s HDMI slot and using the controller is painful. Bonus if it works with a Samsung tv and sound bar.

Man, the Avo store. The lengths I went through to get absolutely nowhere.

Yesterday I sat at a branch for 40 minutes. They took all my details. Fingerprints, ID, picture, and other details. I don't bank with them, or use them at all. So I'm still thinking WTF. So after that ordeal, it still doesn't work. So I complain to their support desk again.

Yesterday I was told there was an issue that they're working on and it'll be resolved in two days. Today I was called my issue is that I need too have a product from Nedbank for the issue to be resolved.

So I ask this lady with tears in my eyes, why I must do something like open an account when it says that you don't need to bank with Nedbank to use the Avo store. All I heard back was mega confusion in her voice. And the cherry on top was she confirmed what I said.

Just WTF. That's all I have to say. **** bank. **** store. Stay away. They tease you with a good deal, but it's one of the biggest admin traps I've encountered.

Now that my rant is over, I can say my series x is ordered through Takealot and scheduled to arrive on Friday (hoping it comes earlier though). All my gold vouchers arrive tomorrow though. At least I'll be able to look at the codes for now *sad trombone noises*

That sucks @mr_norris . I bought stuff through there without having a product with them. Their app is ridiculously buggy however. And it's stupid that you have to FICA to buy bigger stuff.

Know how you feel ;)

Netbank burned me so hard back in 2012 that even if they give the console away for free I would refuse to deal with them. Took a retrenchment package from a company that was closing down and because the letter had the word "Voluntary" in it they refused to honor retrenchment protection/benefit that I had and paid for, for well over 15 years.

Seriously screw Nedbank.

Hi guys, stupid question but this might be the first time a get a sound bar so not sure how it works. Xbox series s only has hdmi out, if i connect sounds bar to tv via hdmi will the xbox sound play through the sound bar or tv speakers?

With my old PS4, i connected it to my TV via HDMI. Then spdif from my TV to soundbar. It worked fine. I imagine it would be much the same with the Xbox
 
Hi all. I just signed up for Xbox Live for the 1st time. When I logged in it shows that I already have a gamertag, which I can't change. Just wanted to know. Are gamertags pre-assigned?

Connect xbox to sound bar and then sound bar to tv.

Not all soundbars have 2 x HDMI's but there are loads of ways to set it up.

Xbox -- HDMI--> TV --spdif--> Soundbar
Xbox --HDMI--> TV --HDMI ARC--> Soundbar (IF TV Supports it)
Xbox --HDMI--> TV --3.5mm audio--> Soundbar (My current setup)

Best is to output from TV to soundbar that way doesn't matter what you do/watch you have the sound on the bar.

Not sure if you mean pic or tag.
There are default pre-assigned ones. I haven't done mine in ages, but if you download the xbox app it is:
click on three lines top left.
Click on your username/gamerpic,
then customise and name sharing settings, depending on what you want to change.

You get a randomized one when signing up. And you also get 1 free tag change. After that you normally have to pay. Just change it. It's cheap. I think R99

I might be wrong. Haven't changed my gamertag in 10 years
