I worked it out at the time the console was launched with the exchange rate at that time, the SX + 2 years of Game Pass worked out to be roughly the same amount in both the US and South Africa.

Now they the rand has gained value the South African pricing has gone a bit wonky. But the potential good news is if there is any SX black Friday shipments coming in, you could see the console sell as low just over R10K. There seems to be plenty of SS consoles still around so it's unlikely they'll go on sale but if they'll only drop to R6500 if they keep their international pricing based at $300.

It was about 8 hours or so if I remember correctly.
 
Got myself an Series S yesterday, still haven’t opened it. Contemplating if I should have got the Series X... but will probably break the seal this morning...

Thanks to your question I now own Skyrim..... again

Have and "Finished" the Original on Steam back when it came out, and never played any DLC or remastered edition so planning to visit Tamriel this holiday...

Murphy probably gonna get me as well, watch it come to GamePass next month esp seeing that Microsoft own them now.

I doubt they would ever drop the price of games, even if by some miracle the Rand goes down to something like R10 they will keep their insane prices of R999 - R1299

Depends on how you game, for me it's as follows :

Hardcore - Series X ( full bells and whistles )
Part time / social - Series S ( Not bothered about pretty games but quality games )

But it also depends on your budget :)
 
And back on-topic, have you guys heard about the serious rumours that Microsoft may be bringing VR to the Xbox Series X? Some code referencing Scarlett VR was found in Microsoft Flight Simulator ... which would be amazing.

It actually raises an interesting dilemma for me: rather hold off on buying a new TV to wait and see how the VR thing pans out, because any VR solution probably won't be under R10K anyway.

Yes there are whispers in the wind for the support + mouse and keyboard for FPS and maybe a few RTS games as well.

Still waiting for more mainstream games and IP's to provide support.

I've found that VR loses it's novelty after a while. It also starts getting uncomfortable for frequent use.

Rather get the TV...

I reckon this is coz it's been pretty terrible up to now. Screen door effect, low resolution, incomplete motion tracking, high latency and tethered cables on the hardware side, and a limited software library ... I just haven't been tempted to buy anything for myself yet. That's where I think Flight Simulator could be a killer app for VR: it's not a repetitive run-and-gun mechanic, but something that could provide some real escapism and exploration. Hopefully we'll get that in our lifetimes still, if not on the Xbox just yet.

You can usually disable it in-game. I normally do, it affects your aim. Nothing more annoying than trying to land headshots and the vibration makes you drift off...
