Xbox Series X / S

PC gaming is suffering because of unoptimized game engines. Its becoming a meme now.

Yes we have all the bells and whistles and some games really run well and amaze but others simply run bad for no reasoning whatsoever.

Stuff like Monster Hunter and Rise of the Ronin and Nioh 3 (80% usage on a 9800X3D) run like **** and they look like **** too. The devs simply don't care.

And don't get me started on ports. More often than not they are simply made by stand-in studios and not the AAA team responsible for the actual game.

That aside, the next Xbox is aimed at Xbox gamers who want a bit more from it I guess, not PC gamers. We already have all store fronts, we can already play all Xbox games and we can already play non-ports be it PS or Andriod via virtual machine.

Well, yes. But then if you want more ram later you need to replace the 2x 8gb sticks with 2x16gb which costs a lot more?

I already regret having only 16GB (Cyberpunk in 4k is not friendly on ram)

Xbox and PS5 for that matter only has 16Gb

So if you wanna comp apples to pears sure get more.

The next consoles will be powerhouses with 30Gb+ because they have to be.

Also, console RT is not PC RT. No console today can run Cyberpunk at max PC settings. In fact most PC's can't.

Crysis was once like that, it too was tamed eventually.

Also people that harp on looks is the reason most games look good today & costing millions to make but play like ****.

I rather the devs focus on gameplay and add FX till cap as an after thought once the core is done.

There's no console war ;-) this generation has sucked in general. Yes there have been games but they were also mostly released on previous generations, there have just been remasters mostly, barely anything of substance. No denying that, it doesn't matter what console you bought, it's been a dud compared to previous years and the previous generation was starting to show that cracks.
I mean this is almost a year old, but it stands
Well mostly for the period as PC prices have skyrocketed now.

AI is the reason pricing has increased so much in the last couple of months, last year was probably the best time to buy and upgrade as pricing was 50% lower sometimes 400% lower for memory and SSDs.

Again, I'm going to disagree. And about 15 million others in 2025 did so as well, seeing as they bought PS5's :)

For once, we agree :)

Still doesn't change the fact that this has been the most disappointing generation ever. 15 million people bought PS5 doesn't change the fact they bought something to play very few games compared to previous generations 5 years in.

An affliction for the entire industry. And as most people have years of gaming backlogs, I think you are focussing on one metric, and not the bigger picture.

But, where you are wrong is that MS sold their IP to Sony, and PS folks had the pick of years of Xbox exclusives for the first time. You remember Phil Spencer boasting that there were so many Xbox games sitting in the PS top 10? So there were loads of new games for PS last year.

Guy, I think you're losing the plot here, this isn't about console wars. This is a simple thing of, there has been nothing this entire generation on both consoles that has made it really worth while honestly owning both consoles.
I have a series X, it collects dust, if I had a PS5 it would collect dust. There are no games... Developers are sitting there taking 13 years to make a game and these two idiotic companies think we want a new console?
Can we get games for the current lot, not remasters, not sequels. Please point out on any of the consoles some new original IPs in the last 6 years of their lifespan?
PC has both Xbox and a good majority of Sony games as well.

Like I said, I don't want to start a whole console debate, but quite frankly this is just your opinion. And I honestly believe your disappointment with Xbox this generation is resulting in transference to all the players in the industry.

Trust me, your PS5 would not have collected dust. 92.2 million PS5 consoles shipped versus your viewpoint - honestly, do you really think it holds water?
