Bud that must surely be a bug? I never missed a shot that had a 100% chance to hit.

yep first playthru ... i knooooow i dont get to play allot so anytime i get a few min free i play

Holy crap, tried classic with ironman, my squads are getting decimated!
Anyone tried any good mods after playing through vanilla?
I haven't played at all this week(work sucks!) but currently on my second playthrough, this time on classic ironman and using http://xcom.nexusmods.com/mods/18 to shuffle things around a bit.
Like some others have said there are a few things i'd like improved(that are difficult/impossible with current mod functionality) like the stupid camera looking at the ufo roof. I'd also love it if reaction shots didn't all shoot the first target - had a few cases where two snipers and another soldier all shot(and hit) at the same drone while having the cybersisc next to it move right next to a soldier and turn him into paste.
The thing where aliens get a free move the first time they see you is also a pain until you get used to it. Now if they only used it for covering and not 'offensive movement' like having a berserker run right next to someone(handy note - the free move they get from being shot appears to be only that - no attacking, same when first seeing you)

Is this game really worth the R600 for ps3 version?
I'm mainly a online PC gamer but would love a title to jam on the ps3, something single payer, have been neglecting it a bit the last year. Just for when there is nothing on tv. I used to be a big fan of the franchise back in the day and think I'd like to try, just not sure about the price vs satisfaction of the game.
Have read all the reviews but would like to know from the core players?

Saw this at a mates house on his xbox and had to have it. Purchas via Steam $33 wasn't too bad.
Few questions.
Any ideas on how to get the 13GB download without blowing my cap and it taking 4 days ?
Is it possible to source the disk from someone and install it on my PC then tell steam that I already have it and don't have to download 13GB ?
I read there were quite a few bugs in the PC version. Has this been patched and is it much better now ?

I can answer one of your questions:
If you can get the Steam data files from someone, you can do a restore to your pc and Steam account without problems.
I have done that a few times for one of my friends who uses 3G.
Still yet to try MP though, but have watched a few youtube clips on it and it looks like fun.

If you have a friend with the game already you can copy over the steam files. When you start to download it it will pick up you have the files and just check they arent corrupt.
You really need to get uncapped.
Thanks guys - can't afford uncapped atm, so will have to go the copy route.
All of my friends are console punks, so will have to find someone local who can do me a favour.

It is a absolute brilliant game, it is my GOTY of 2012.
I only recently started playing it on my PC again, spend all my time playing it on my Xbox since release.
But that's typical Xcom (just like Civilization), always just that one more turn, that lasts for hours on end.
