XFX Warranty

Yo.

So before I stick to getting my XFX Radeon HD5850. Could someone with experience tell me how the warranty works?

AFAIK it's a 2yr warranty from the local supplier. If you register your card within 30 days you get a lifetime warranty from XFX, so then have to ship the card back to USA for it to be replaced.

But if you goto their site, http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/Help/Support/WarrantyInformation.aspx

Select Africa, then a product it only says it's available for North America & Canada. :erm:

I think I registered my card, can't remember now. But (touch wood) have not had any problems at all for almost a year now! I like the XFX brand, good quality stuff....

if the card is older than 1 year they give you a limited warranty for the 2nd year. So if the card go's hope it does so in the 1st year.

My XFX 8800GTX popped last week, bought it in Dec 2006 - and only realised a few months after purchase that it was required to register within 30 days. So scratch that.

I emailed XFX about getting it replaced, but I doubt they'll honor that

I want to make sure my next purchase is proper.

In all honesty, I have never had a PC component fail on me (other than fujitsu hard drives)... Just lucky suppose! I make a point of regularly blowing all the dust out of my PC and keeping the airflow good.

I registered my XFX 8800GT as well, but luckily haven't needed to use the warranty. But I doubt that they will honor the life time warranty for us saffers.

Im impressed with the XFX warranty personally

mate of mine, his card popped, and even with the aftermarket fan on it, which was miiiiiiiiles better than the stock, they still replaced the card and were kind enough to put the cooler onto the new card!

BTW do you guys manage your cards temps or do you just let it do its own thing? I run Rivatuner, neva let my card go over 65C.

When you guys say lifetime warranty does that mean forever or as i know it to mean the life of the card? so when it stops being produced the warranty runs out?

Far as i know lifetime does not mean for the next 50 years.

I use EVGA precision and set the speed manually

Auto for 2D and 75% for 3D/Gaming

So next time buy an EVGA card...10 yr warranty (on the higher end cards)
