Xiaomi Mi Box / Mi Box S [Android TV OS]

Does anyone have issues on 5.1 sound, specifically Netflix?
 
I don't have the box with me... But my brother just phoned and pointed it out.

He used to use PCM and it was fine... But today he bought a small Yamaha AV system was excited to try Netflix 5.1.

He just phoned and mentioned sound break up that he'd never had before

Yes
On hdmi via avr
It's something to do with Dolby digital processing

Netflix Works perfect in my xbox and much louder as well

It's a known issue, the only issue I have left with the Mi Box.

If he wants I can tell you how to fix it with Kodi.

That's a huge issue!

I always hear how this box is the best.

Netflix via Kodi?

I wouldn't say huge issue, I watched The Highwaymen the other day and that's over 2 hours long and it only happened three times, it's seemingly random because you can rewind when it happens and it won't happen again and it can happen twice in a couple of minutes and then only again more than an hour later.

Yes, Netflix via Kodi with EAC3 to AC3 transcoding enabled.

And the interface?
Is it effected?

I'm wondering if optical works?

Optical will give stereo yes, it won't downmix, that's where Kodi comes in because when you use Netflix via Kodi it has all the capabilities of the Kodi media player.

I see some people have mentioned it came with Oreo... So that may be the issue.

Does the LIT have this issue?
