That's not the Pro, the Pro has the Snapdragon 652 chipset.

Oh, I thought I had the PRO....and I thought the PRO designation meant it had the 3 GB / 64GB of ROM memory. I just looked on gsmarena, and the specs there say the difference is that the Note 4 has a Helio X20 10 core 2.1 Ghz, and the Note 4 PRO has the same...except in the "exclusive" version (whatever that means) it uses the Helio X25 2.3 or 2.5.

The only other difference I could see was the display IPS vs LTPS AMOLED....but exactly the same size and pixel density.

So...it turns out I don't have the Note 4 PRO, but the NOTE 4 3/64 GB. Either way, it is really fast, brilliant display, best fingerprint sensor, and simply the best flippin value phone I have ever bought. Makes me sick knowing that I have spent well above R 10 000.00 for many phones that were no better, but mostly worse, than the Xiaomi Note 4.

Just got the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 3/64GB from DX. Minor issues with shipping details (their system seems a bit weird) but otherwise no significant issues.
Loaded the Global ROM with zero difficulty (noobie droid user here) - phone seems very decent (wife loves it!)

I couldn't make sense of some of the models either
There are many variants
This one has a pro with a single camera

This one has a dual camera

This one calls the model you have a pro

Anyways, followed your lead and bought the same one you did
Cant wait to get it

What's the average battery life when using 2 sims? I gave this device to my mom and she moans and says the battery lasts for about 4-6 hours while she's not even using it.

I am running 2 sims. Sim 2 on 4G. I am on wifi all day and bluetooth in the car for 2-3hours a day. I use my phone throughout the day for work calls, emails and whatsapp's with at least 2hrs of social media consumption in the evening. I unplugged on Thursday morning at 6am and this morning (Friday 6am) I had 44% left....

Have her check the top battery-draining apps, happened on my other phone were facebook messenger was stuck chowing 43% power 24/7 even while supposed to be idle..

Anyone managed to find a cover that fits our Redmi Note 3 Special Edition (in store or online)?

The ones I ordered from AliExpress don't fit as they were designed for the non-SE Note 3.

My tempered glass screen protectors (also from AE) are still on the way, hoping they fit even though they're also designed for the non-SE.

Top one is android OS or something.
Nothing chewing the battery as I can see. Guess the battery is the culprit.

Anyone coming from an iPhone 6/6s to the Note 3?

I amconsidering getting this phone but have a few concerns.

Is the 2gb ram adequate? Im not really into gaming, but is it good at multitasking?

How is the camera? From reviews I have seen it is good in normal conditions but struggles in low light?

I also considered the Redmi 3s but it only has a 720p display and dont think the performance would be that great.

I've had both. The ram is enough and the phone is smooth. Camera can't be compared though... The iPhone is definitely a fair bit better in my experience

Agree that the camera is the only downside, especially in low light settings.

I find myself playing with the Note 3 more than my iPhone.

I got this WeChat deal while I got my wife the P9lite deal. The Xiaomi wins for battery life and slightly snappier GUI while the P9lite wins in the camera department as my wife's photo's of our kids are much better than mine.

If something happened to my Xiaomi and I had to buy a replacement phone, it would be a difficult choice. P9lite of course costs R700 more and lacks the battery life I am now used to on the Note 3.

Something is bugging the living daylights out of me. Every day I get a notification along the lines of "running out of space. Some system functions might not work". But if you look at the screenshot, there is almost 1gb free on the system storage. Any ideas?

I think you will get that notification once free space goes below 1024MB.

Not sure of a way to remove it unless you bar the notification from showing with the Security app
