Xiaomi Note 3 now R1899

Installed an Android N ROM about 2 weeks (Nitrogen OS)

Loving it so far. Battery life and speed have dramatically improved.
 
Charger has arrived. Phone is about 2 days behind.

Before anyone says phone doesn't have quick charge 3.0... Once Radon kernel is flashed... It will.

Anyone heard anything about BlitzWolf? Do we have any local QC3.0 options? For R172, this is hard to beat...

It's hard to find QC chargers locally that's why I resorted to importing. I've seen a few reviews on the blitswolf chargers. They seem to do the job.

Paid by credit card- the phone took 2 months to show up at JIMC- it's now left there and is down the road in CPT, but SARS hasn't released it yet. They haven't stopped it and requested paperwork, they just haven't got to the package yet... Apparently they have a huge pile to get through... :(

Standard /EMS shipping hasn't been worth it for me. I'll pay for a courier next time.
 
I thought it was a problem importing phones? Don't you need some sort of ICASA certificate?

My phone is at Durmail customs. I called them. Said nothing about that. Just that it'll be ready by Monday.

Will also pay next time. This was just a R2500 test to see how bad it really is. If you don't mind waiting I think it's fine. My covers and charger were here speedily all things considered.

Likewise- I've ordered the Mi Max- was a Black Friday deal! Hell, that's a while ago...

Cover was here within a month- it's sitting empty on my bookshelf :(

Ordered a car charger BT/FM transmitter combo too- also here within a month.

Those last items are from BangGood.

I'll use them again, but won't go near GeekBuying after what I've had to deal with for the phone.

Waiting 3 months is >10% of the usable life of the phone- better to pay more upfront for speedier shipping and get the full use of the thing.

Anyway, enough about me and my woes...

Enjoy the phone when you get yours! :)
