Go to one of those little cellphone shops, they usually have a cutter.

Why did you order two?

A phone to use and a phone to play with. 1st world problems (Too many authenticators and whatnot making flashing a pain)

Anybody want to chime in with why I should go with Lineage over Resurrection Remix or anything else?

I'm still too new to the updated roms. As far as I can remember Lineage is pure AOSP. If you want more customization then it'll be RR. Pro tip - Don't flash Radon. Battery drain is bad from my early testing.

Ok now I feel at home again

note 4.jpg
Xiaomi Note 4 Helios X20 (3 gig/32gig) for $179.

The Note 4 is just a tad slower than the Mi5 but I find that the Mi5 back key is not as sensative as I would like it to be. Might be the screen protector or the phone.

So far I am impressed. For the money I spend it was well worth it.

The weight and metal feel really makes it feel expensive and premium right?! So far people have been asking me what phone it is and when I say Xiaomi the response is always: Huh??? What's that?

pretty confused regarding cases/covers

we bought this phone - http://www.takealot.com/xiaomi-redmi-note-3-16gb-lte-gold/PLID41678071

now on a lot of sites, most of the covers say "This case is only suitable for standard version, not compatible with international version"

Think the one is 151 mm vs 152 mm
which version is this, and what covers are compatible?

Dont know which one they have but as far as I can tell:

International (Standard) Note 3 = 150 x 76 x 8.7 mm
Local Note 3 = 150 x 76 x 8.65 mm
Asian Markets = 152.5 x 76 x 8.7 mm

What rom is this? there doesnt seem to be a lot of options for the Note 4 mediatek (Nikel)

Original Rom, that be Nova launcher. I can't use a phone without it.

So I was just at China Mall Durban, Inanda Road. F all covers for any Xiaomi except for the Note 2 at one shop.

I ended up taking a UAG cover for the Note 5 that fits perfectly but the cut outs don't match at all. I need the protection sometimes. Will fashion a cut out for the fingerprint scanner and it should be good.

Not the neatest job admittedly. Had to use a Stanley Knife to cut. The plastic is flippin hard to slice. That's a good sign tho in terms of protection. I may print a vinyl and stick over to improve the looks.

Erm step away from the knife.... You killing that thing :D
But like you said, at least its better than nothing.

Personally I prefer the original flip covers that have the auto on/off magnet. Thanx to the flip cover I sold my Moto G (3rd gen) for same price I bought it as it looked brand new. So in essence I got my Note 4 for free.

That's really great cause i know if it's ever available on SA you'll pay R3.5k+ just for the phone, I want this and I might get it next month. Please share any difficulties while using, even the nice stuff with it, battery life etc. ☺
