Xiaomi Note 3 now R1899

Yep, wife dropped hers and shattered the screen. MIA arranged collection and delivery. Took 2/3 weeks if I remember correctly.
How much was the repair? Cause pretty much my experience.

Which covers did you buy and from where? I've ordered this and it's a lemon. I'll return it.

I need to wait 47 more hours before the Mi Unlock allows me to unlock the phone :(

From there, I'll experiment with ROMs and kernels ( I think?) as I'm keen to get quick charge 2 working on this :)

Why was yours a lemon? I got my dad the same one and it seems to work pretty well if a bit bulky

Good luck with getting QC to work!

I downloaded the Developers ROM, MIUI 9, this morning. I'm currently on stable. I used the developers ROM in the past, but had some issues, so I switched back to Stable.
I'm wondering if I should wait it out for the stable MIUI 9, or should I try the Dev Rom. Anyone installed MIUI 9 Dev rom? Any issues?

I also have one of those. Top and bottom don't fit 100% but it does the job when I use it every now and again. I prefer my phone naked, but used this cover for 10 days recently while on holiday so that I could throw my phone down anywhere and it worked 100%

Thanks. I've enjoyed QC on my Mi Max, and I have a QC3 charger. Hope it'll work as well here...

Ja, the fit isn't great and it obscures the fingerprint reader. The power/volume buttons don't work either (without extreme pressure). Do those loosen up?

If there are no decent alternatives, I may just have to keep it

Is there a waiting period for Dev ROMs? Maybe I can play with that while I wait for my Mi Unlock...

My dad has a RN4 but the cover looks identical. Could the cover be meant for the Kate variant and you have the Kenzo, or vice versa? I hear there were small differences in the design and dimensions between the two and as such the accessories aren't always compatible. The buttons are stiff but they do get softer with time

I have the Kate. Fingerprint sensor is fully accessible. Volume rockers needed a harder press while the power button need a lot more pressure. Slightly annoying but I only use the cover occasionally and for under 100 I can't complain.

As I said, I definitely prefer the naked feel of the phone.

I've got the same cover for the old Note 2, it does get softer with time, so much so the old Note 2 is being used by my five year old. Before it was like aaaargh trying to push those buttons.

Also Kate, according to this.

Kenzo: 2015116
Kate: 2015161

Perhaps I should persevere :)

You can download it here, instructions there too : http://en.miui.com/download-301.html#449

It's easy to install, It's just a schlep to go back to the the Stable rom.

Thanks- it says to use fastboot
. If you upgrade from MIUI Stable ROM based on Android M to MIUI Developer ROM based on Android N, please flash it via Fastboot update. Recovery update might cause upgrade failure.

Do I need unlocked boot loader for that?

I'll see if the built in updater picks up my zip and try that if so.

Is anyone else battling to save music offline in external memory using play music?

Ai, didn't see that. Seems it needs to be unlocked for our phone. Wonder how much it will mess it up if I just do it the normal upgrade method, via updater app.

What can one expect to sell one of these 16GB Redmi Note 3's for now? I might be getting closer to replacing mine which is still in perfect condition.....

I see the developer rom for Redmi note 3, is MIUI 9, but still Android 6. According to that statement, use Fast boot if going from Android M to N. Will it be safe?

EDIT: Changed my mind after reading through the MIUI forum. Apparently the MIUI 9 for RN3, Marshmallow, isn't much of an upgrade. It's missing a lot of the new features. Will rather wait it out for the Nougat edition.
