Xperia X10 - SE

I was keen on the X10 but my experience with X1 ended with hardware problems. I have the Desire and what a beauty.

The X10 had the potential to be an amazing phone, but the Desire just outclasses it in so many ways. Maybe once the X10 has 2.1, it would be a better phone than the Desire is now, but by then the Desire will very likely have 2.2.

I have had my X10 for a few days now and I am absolutely blown away by it (and not only by the looks)! Got it on Vodacom Talk 120s for R1900 pay in, but would have paid up to R3500 for this.....!
I have to agree that this is the best looking phone produced to date, and most of the 1.6 issues have been overcome by SE anyway. IMHO this is the "classier" version of the Desire.
When 2.1/2.2 arrives with HD video it will be like getting a new phone half-way through my contract which is a bonus.

Great phone. Love it...

I had the chance to test drive my sister's X10 tonight....and it is fabulous.

Not happy to use my 3G iPhone after using that speed demon anymore. Considering the fact that it's running an old version of Android, I'm sure it will be absolutely sick with an upgrade to 2.2 .

And I couldn't believe that my sis didn't have to first install iTunes on her notebook to register her phone before she could use it! It just worked out of the box. Now that is just wrong. Everyone should experience the utter pain and frustration called iTunes at least once in their lives.

I'm definitely not buying another iPhone, my next phone will be running Android. Finish & klaar.

X10 Rocks

Had my X10 for 6 Days now...Still have my Iphone 3GS and HTC HD2...
X10....Just awsome! This is realy one of the best phones i had in a very long time!
Just a pitty about the low call volume:(

Oh...and we will be getting Android 2.1 not 2.2 unfortunatly...
But still a awsome phone!

One more note...for those trying to upgrade to R1FA016 (Some speed fixes and others)...don't, i bricked my first one trying...lol

Android is awesome, I'm loving all the subtle little things they put in to make your life easier. Although the speed would be purely because of the 1GHz processor :P

Yes, the 1Ghz CPU makes a huge difference....and my iPhone's 400Mhz CPU is just not up to the task anymore. :(

Guess jealousy makes you nasty, cos I mumbled to my sis that Android looks a lot like the iPhone OS. The resemblance is striking. :)

Yo Guys...Just ordered my X10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY!!!! Now its the hard part...the wait...

Guys got the X10 yesterday....All i can say is WOW...I an completely blown away by the interface and speed of this phone...Well i have moved up from a HCT Diamond so the difference in speed was quite noticeable but the difference between the OS is unbelievable...Android ROCKS and this software isnt even the latest version, so this phone is gonna be even more pimping once installed...Im still getting familiar with all the settings and apps but the process of learn has be awesome, so big ups to Sony Ericsson for a cool phone.

I have to give another shout out to the Bluff Vodacom4u Store. The lady who assisted me was top notch...I was able to get a early upgrade done (2 months earlier) and she got the phone for me within 24hrs of calling her...That alone is impressive...

So guys im off to play with my phone, its shaping up to be an awesome weekend....Catch you on the flipside...

Got me one of these todays...

Yes the lack of multi-touch is disappointing, but its hardly a show stopper... i mean really....
For me the big killer that I'm gonna have to work around, due to Vodacom being stingy, is the lack of Exchange support... although in all fairness SE should have handled this themselves what with this being their flagship phone.

Vodacom wouldn't let me upgrade sooner. double standards I say...

We should start a thread on cool/best apps for the x10 and share our experiences. how many x10 users out there?

It would be cool to check what apps you guys are running and share experiences. I for one already have a small issue with the phone. I cant access my sim card contacts "Sim Card Unavailable." Any one else with this problem??

Update: No worries guys. Found the solution, quite simple actually. Let me know if you need some help.
