Yet another RRoD

R200 isn't bad at all .......... I'll keep you in mind if anything does ever happen (you'll forgive me for hoping that nothing ever does though :D)

LOL

No problem. I'm getting a console next week where the drive scratches discs like its going out of fashion. Will have to mod that drive a bit so that it stops doing that!

Need my sleep. Busy day tomorrow :)

Cheers

If it doesnt have an HDMI port then it is just old stock ! 90% of core's didnt have HDMI ports only the original zephyr Elite's and premiums (a high amount rrod's even with the extra heatsinks), late model core's, arcade's and late 07 premiums have hdmi ports !

It is probably just old stock ! Refurbs are not sold to the public and are mainly used for swopout purposes ! even the opus refurbs (basically a upgraded and repaired 360 with the Falcon model chips (65nm CPU, 90nm GPU) and one of the older motherboards that doesn't have have HDMI) which have come into circulation recently are not sold and are only used for swopout purposes.

anything made after sep 07 with HDMI are falcons (they run extrmely cool if you have one of these dont worry - Core's never came in falcon configuration though only arcade models, new prems and elite's)

hopefully Jasper which has a 65nm gpu and a 65nm cpu (released this month :D), and valhalla which will have a combined Gpu/CPU (the rumoured smaller 360 model due next year) will bring an end to rrod !

Lot nr 0830, its manufacture date is 2006, its a Telkom one, refurbed, extra cooling, you telling me they upgraded the CHIP to a falcon?

it is possible yes ! lately opus refurbs have been surfacing all over and they feature falcon cpu's on the older xenon motherboards (opus are essentially falcons without HDMI) ! so yes there is a possibility that u have an opus 360

Most likely just the cooling is upgraded. Probably the 90nm mobo!

I thought the 90nm was the original motherboard specs

The original Xbox 360 motherboard is called the Xenon with both a 90 nm CPU and 90 nm GPU, there has been system cooling revisions to it. Next was Zephyr motherboard with HDMI that was introduced with the Xbox 360 Elite and and some had newer "heat pumps". Currently on the market is Falcon with a cooler 65 nm CPU but still the same hot GPU as the Xenon.

Falcon CPU is a possibility.

I think i should strip a Telkom 360 properly next time to compare it to pics on the Net. Still crappy that you have to buy old stock :(

No, it hasn't got a falcon CPU 'cause it came with a 200W Power Supply

The output of the Power supply doesnt mean anything - Opus models are not true falcon 360's they only have the falcon Cpu so other components might still need more power as nothing else gets changed compared to HDMI falcons which has less components on the board and which draws less power ! im running my new falcon with my old Xenon's 200w power supply and it runs fine !

So it doesn't matter what Power supply you're running  If I swap my 2005 Xbox and they give me one of the 'newer' Xboxes, would my 200w power supply work?

So I finally got the Warranty Claim form today and it asks me for my unit model number  Where do I find that ?

on the box or at the back of the console ........... if all else fails, just remember, Google is your best friend ;):D

Am I safe if my xbox was manufactured on 2007-09-02?
