mine too Moto 5200.
interesting to see the younger guys... their first phone not the first models that came out, but only 3rd gen model ->
back then you still had to buy the phone, no 'free' phone with contract.... still, could get the top models for like under R1000... of course not a patch on today's phones that even beat those days' PCs in terms of CPU power and memory

Also had the Motorola 5200 with the one slim and one fat battery. I bought it with a contract in 1994 - had to pay in about R 2500.00 for the phone with the contract (probably more than R 15 000.00 in todays money with inflation). My first service provider (forgot their name) bit the dust long ago.

wtf? was that R2500 with the contract prepaid up front? i was on the R125pm contract (cant remember package name), but the Moto 5200 purchase price was something like R599... about a month after go-live
