Your first mobile phone

first couple of phones were the long Siemens s11 and the small and sexy Siemens M35, my favourite phone as a student, everyone kept asking me what it was as everyone had Nokias and motorolas

that M35 looks like it could take a decent fall and still work, like many other of the day.
today, screen replacements must be huge business

The Nokia 3310. It was a beast, and it ended up lasting over 4 years. I could drop it, throw it, pick it, and it still kept on working. If I did that with my current S3 mini, I'd need a new one every month. The 3310 also had a much better battery!

I had a Sony Ericsson T300. Was the first one to have a phone with polyphonic ring tones and fancy MMS. What a feeling it was.

1st one was a Alcatel - think you had to pull the aerial out to use it.

My first was a Nokia 3210. Currently have the S4.

This thread just reminds me how Nokia managed to completely throw away their position in the market by failing to innovate in a fast-changing world.

1st phone was the Nokia 7110. In fact, all my phones were Nokias other than my previous phone, S2, which was also my first smart phone. Current phone is the LG G2.

Motorola D170 in '97 (could take 4 AA batteries as well), and still have that number active on a SIM:

Now have a Samsung Galaxy S2, a Nokia 301 (feature phone) and a Lenobo IdeaPad 3000 (7" tablet) that I carry on me...
