Your Raspberry Pi Projects

I did thanks, i think the issue was that it was still scanning all my files, causing the server to be slow.
It does take a long time depending on your content, but once its done it works fine. I just need to check but the add-on suggested to install an additional add-on to scan media every time on startup. There is a setting that you can enable after the "second" ? add-on is installed on jellyfin to scan for media, as far as I understand updating libraries is still manual at the moment without that setting. Do you know anything about that?

library settings: (enable advance settings)

and you can schedule a full scan under schedule tasks.

I have a question for you guys running pihole.
How much latency does it introduce? Would it for instance, impact on gaming appreciably, which is rather sensitive to latency? And does it impact throughput (mbps) at all?

Yeah, sorry for the stupid questions nê,

No impact at all. Any DNS requests will be done once and then cached by your PC/console/etc for a period of time.

I designed the board in KiCad. Kinda of a boff but have forgotten a lot :( I studied electronics many years ago and used to work for a electronics company. Then moved into IT. Have started tinkering again to get back into it.

Thats cool

I am a software dev for 20 years now. Recently started getting into RPi and Golang and hooking up temp sensors and stuff. Unfortunately I am not very clued up on electronics, so I learn as I along.

I'm actually trying to avoid any fans. That is why I started using Pi's for HTPCs. Working on a DIY massive heatsink with minimal tools

Ditto. Part of the reason I'm keen on using Pis in many scenarios is lack of fan noise.

Question. I have a Kview CCTV system. All the cameras are analogue. The controller box fans are starting to make too much noise, is this something a pi3 with external SSD can handle .. assuming I would need to switch to IP cameras. Any ideas would be appreciated
