Your Raspberry Pi Projects

Have a look here for a quick intro :

Below the video ( when viewed on YouTube ) is a list of additional links for things like the actual mirror build, the software setup, calendar setup etc.

Obviously you make it your own. I made my mirror a lot thinner ( 22mm ) so it looks like a regular mirror, not a box mirror. I put conduits into the wall for the cables and the "bulky" Pi sits 5m away in a easily accessible cupboard

I didn't do the Alexa bit in the video as I just don't have need for it. I have however added some additional modules since ( the photo is from Dec 2019 ) like Moon Phases. There are loads of modules you can add which can be found here : https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror/wiki/3rd-party-modules. The screen powers off at 22h00 and on again at 06h00 when not in use

You guys running pihole, can you recommend some additional lists? Did a quick test and I still have some ads showing (browser, youtube and facebook links)

pihole cant block youtube ads, because they served from the same servers as the actual videos. So blocking them ads on dns level will also block the videos.
Only way to block it is at client level like in the browser using plugin or on android special youtube app.

Been playing around with Docker on my 3B+, and got my Pi4/4GB setup yesterday so I migrated all the containers to it.

Currently it's running the following:

Portainer
Heimdall
Smokeping
Jackett
Sonarr
Radarr
Transmission
Plex Media Server
CUPS
Unifi Controller

I repurposed the 3B+ as a jump box, so it only runs PiHole and PiVPN currently. I'll probably add some more services as I go along, but I am happy with the above for now.

Sweet, but you can't expect us to Google all those. How about a one-liner for what they do? At least the unusual ones - I'm sure we all know CUPS, Plex, Sonarr, Transmission.
Also, I'll definitely be trying Portainer. Looks awesome

Okay here we go:

Portainer - a GUI for the Docker system, which makes deployment and management quite easy

Heimdall - an Application dashboard that is user-customisable and can support normal URLs, enhanced links (almost like widgets) and so on. I use it as my homepage.

Smokeping - this uses fping as a probe and displays it in a graph using rrdtool. It's not very user-friendly but it is quite powerful. You can add more probes but it defaults with fping to record latency to the hosts you specify.

Jackett - torrent indexer/proxy service that aggregates indexers

Sonarr - Sonarr monitors your watched series and downloads missing episodes, it can replace SD episodes with HD versions, and integrates with Transmission

Radarr - Almost the same as Sonarr, but for movies instead of series

Transmission - Torrent file downloader that talks to Sonarr and Radarr

Plex Media Server - Local media server for movies and series. It can also stream to remote clients, but for that you need a Plex Pass subscription

CUPS - Linux print server to enable wireless printing to my old USB printer

Unifi Controller - used for management, monitoring and analytics of my Ubiquiti Access Point

Thank you for this info, never knew about Heimdall

Sorry for the Stupid question, but how do you get the stats on the Sonarr's Card on Heimdall

You just punch the API key into the link when you set it up, and it should pull the info through
