Your temu orders

Oh bother! Was hoping to get some items in so I could assess and decide to order more of the same before the payday orders. Now I am not sure if it will be in before the long weekend.
Ouch :(

I don't doubt Temu is fudging the customs duties, I placed an order last week for R1441 and only had to pay R174.79 in taxes. That's less than VAT so I'm not sure how they're doing this, but I'm not complaining for now.

I have paid more than VAT % on all 3 orders. Paid 53 for order of 227 as per first order so I am sure rest of the orders are similarly taxed.

Just paid 17% "duty + VAT", so ja... interesting. Unless they are actually including VAT in their advertised prices (as I would imagine they're legally supposed to)?

Either way I will not be surprised if a certain other ecommerce site starts doing some telling on shortly.

Maybe you ordered a few loaves of bread by mistake

Same ;), I prefer in-store shopping, where I can physically view the product, and I believe in quality "buy once, cry once" kinda thing.

But seriously isn't this like wish.com V2.0
Technically it's Shein v2

Banggood, Shein, Wish, then Temu as far as I'm aware that use buffalo.

Bought something on Ebay and it also went the Buffalo route:

Anyone here got info on their system? Things like above, is it in SA or the SA Warehouse in China somewhere?
How long from "Transit to thirdparty Express" did it take before you received your item?

It's going to be delivered to you. It's in SA

Well my order has finally arrived, placed on the 12th of March, thus two weeks turn-around time. 18 items in total in my first batch.

Going to go through everything tonight and see what the quality is like.

Yeah, there's no electronics, I'm not feeling that brave.

Anyone pulled the rigger on a smart watch? Which one

Ordered from Temu 3 times in the last 2 months and definitely had a better experience with them vs AliExpress. Took around 2 / 2 and half weeks for items to be delivered. Espresso coffee accessories was 1/3 at times 1/5 vs the price sold locally. Exact same items sold in SA and the Temu quality was surprisingly good. Other items were small electronic gadgets , iPhone covers (excellent quality for a R24 semi card stylish back cover). Interesting goodies on Temu. Will definitely be ordering again .

So far based on 3 orders.

Good:
- Electronics
- Drill bits
- Sponges
- Brushes

Bad:
- Clothing (cheap kak)
- Mats and Carpets (thin crap)
- Car wash mitt (tiny, for dwarves)

Overall, it's reasonably priced chinese stuff you can buy at the various China Malls. But generally the items are smaller than they appear in the pictures.

The shirt I bought wasn't bad at all roughly Pnp shirt quality for half the price :-)

The high quality "macro" photography is one of the tricks. Much of it seems to be just CG. I guess this international freight business is all about minimising weight so they want to mostly sell Christmas cracker fillers.

My favourite so far:

I find TEMU cheaper and has wider range vs local china malls in my area.
I try to avoid opening the App coz I know I'm gonna buy stuff that I don't need but its cheap
