Hi,

We are hoping that our second cache server in CPT will complete it's install so we can direct more JHB traffic to it to improve the experience while we wait for Google to do their upgrades.

Hi,

Our second Google cache went online this morning.

We have moved a large amount of IP subnets to this cache and we expect to see a big improvement in the over all experience this evening.

Please let me know if the experience hasn't improved so we can investigate ways to improve it.
 
The same problem with webafrica, Installing Cloudflare warp seems to fix the issue instantly but not ideal to have to use Cloudflare warp everytime I want to watch youtube.
 
Has this been resolved now? I am considering afrihost fibre and this would be an issue if there are problems on youtube

YouTube still an issue at times. Check the main thread. Afrihost are working on more Cache servers for JHB

Hi there,

I'm on openserve with AH. Also having the YT issues.

When I enable ipv6 on my router, I get a bunch of options, which do I select?

why afrihost having youtube problems but other isps like cellc and vox not having problems ???

Uhm I have had issues on vodacom and recently telkom last night. Also seems like some users on CISP had as well as Vox if you look at the other recent forums. The problems in my experience are not consistent meaning some videos have a issue some do not. Also I am in CT so might be a reason why its not as consistently bad.

As AfriNatic and PBCool have stated before the issue is with Google and they go in depth in their respective threads about it.
 
It's happening again, YouTube app is buffering again even on 144p, while on desktop I'm able to watch 720p60 2x speed with almost no issues. Just a single instance of buffering for a second before getting full speed again.

Did YouTube underestimate the demand from this country?

This whole YouTube thing seems like something perfectly suited as an article on mybroadband ... along with details and feedback from Google as to why they've run out of capacity in ZA and why it's taking so long to resolve.. @rpm ?
 
They want us to buy premium accounts
