You compared a Premium Branded phone the Galaxy Note to a R1999 Zest t1. That speaks highly of your first impression. Can't wait to get mine now! Expecting delivery on Wednesday, this is going to be a long wait
I don't follow?
Got mine on Friday and been playing with it over the weekend. Been highly impressed with the phone at the moment.
My phones internal storage is 5.17GB and I have put in a 32 gig SD card in it which it shows total space of 29.39GB. the battery does seem to last for quite a while with constant use however I have been charging it over the weekend when it gets down to about 60% and so I am not sure how long the battery will last by itself.
I didn't have any issues loading my MTN and afrihost sim cards and they seemed to be working fine. sometimes the touch is not as sensitive but overall the price I paid for the phone seems totally worth it.
Haha yeah that's true, but the Note is much older and has all that bloatware. Been really struggling with it recently. You compared a Premium Branded phone the Galaxy Note to a R1999 Zest t1. I'm not sure many people know that the cover is like that. My first impression when seen it while ordering was that the cover was a silicon bumper cover. But then again I didn't read anything, I ignored it when I saw the price.
That speaks highly of your first impression.
The pic above is not a good representation of what I got in the end. Looks more like the stock rubbery cover material on the back. The corners of the phone and stock back cover is still fully exposed. I was expecting a cover that places some easily replaceable bumper plastic between the stock phone and the surface being hit. The word flip is not even mentioned above. The front flip cover material/texture is nice though as it is fingerprint resistant. Need a back cover like that, as the stock surface is prone to fingerprints. Mine is already starting to look dirty after half a day of use! Went for the back for this very reason. So still in the market for a proper cover...
What network frequencies does the Zest support? I am interested in the phone, but I need to fall back to CellC data as well if I can.
Post a pic? what does the cover look like?
Do these covers magnetically attach to the phone? Does is switch off automatically when the cover is closed, or am I expecting too much?
There is no manual yet available.
pity, I have one of those on my moto g and it really has become indispensable for me.No. And no. Too much. Waaay too much. These ain't smart covers. Unless I missed something - phone is not even 24 hours old, so forgive me.
Manual of sorts posted by Yasheel: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1iG55FFHwl5S3BoNTRYVVJBTW8/edit
I popped in my Vodacom sim, Afirhost sim, memory card... and off I went - everything just worked.
About Android Kit Kat. Read this official manual https://play.google.com/store/books/details?id=3SfNAQAAQBAJ&source=gbs_api. Basically just drag and drop.I'm another T1 guinea pig. It looks good.
Like others, I'm also disappointed that the cover is only protective of the screen, in that one removes the original hard plastic back of the phone and clips the hard plastic "cover" on in its place. so it is just a glorified phone-back with a front flip cover attached. I want more drop and scratch resistance.
There is no manual yet available. It should have been pre-loaded as a pdf on the phone with a shortcut on the home screen.
Afrihost says the APN should be all in lower case. Didn't notice a difference. It's not clear which access points like mms, gprs, Internet etc. need the Afrihost APN. A better setup guide is needed.
Really frustrating is not knowing how to create a folder of shortcuts on the home screen. I don't like more than two home screens and I like to group my shortcuts into folders. That was easy on my S2. Is this an Android Kitkat glitch having no folders?
OK anyone know how to root this thing. Trying to install TB Pro and it requires root ... darn!
