Is anybody else having issues with this phone or is it just me?

The Afrihost sim is refusing to connect to the MTN network (and yes, I did set the APN to Afrihost). Even if I put my Blackberry Vodacom sim in the phone I still have no data connection. The MTN sim in any other phone registers on the MTN network.

And why does the phone indicate "Invalid IMEI"?

Tried rebooting with the sims in and out, factory reset with the sims in and out, leaving it on overnight, still no joy.

At this stage it looks as if I will have to go to the Afrihost walk-in centre to see if they can sort it out, or exchange for a new one. :(

The Invalid imei sounds like the problem my part time garden guy had. He unknowingly bought a fake poorly made in China piece of Chinese cr@p Galaxy S3 mini. The R500 price tag should have sounded warning bells but the phone was working properly when he got it. Only after he did a master reset did it come up with a " Invalid IMEI" problem.

I created a thread for the Zest T1, but it might have been a little premature and fell off the radar. Maybe a mod can merge?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hear exactly how the battery holds up in day to day use. Screen on time and standby time. My guess is that it will comfortably get through a day of average use, but not much more.

I dont have as much experience as you, how does a merge work?

Mine was delivered this morning ... and it won't turn on. Leaving it on charge and hoping I don't need to return it.

Well, this is discouraging. Sounds like a host of different issues exist.

Jip, same issue. And here I thought I got the only lemon in the batch. Taking mine back to Afrihost on Wednesday after spending the entire weekend with support.

Ok I think I'm starting to doubt the lesser brands

Got mine on Friday and been playing with it over the weekend. Been highly impressed with the phone at the moment.

My phones internal storage is 5.17GB and I have put in a 32 gig SD card in it which it shows total space of 29.39GB. the battery does seem to last for quite a while with constant use however I have been charging it over the weekend when it gets down to about 60% and so I am not sure how long the battery will last by itself.

I didn't have any issues loading my MTN and afrihost sim cards and they seemed to be working fine. sometimes the touch is not as sensitive but overall the price I paid for the phone seems totally worth it.

Thanks for the update/review. Was beginning to stress I made a bad choice. Still waiting for a tracking number here.

Been using mine (only 1 SIM) and I like it. It's not the most attractive phone, but it's very responsive, especially compared to my Note.

Scheduled delivery for after 12 as I was heading to the post office at ~11ish. CCD walked in here just as I am about to leave. Why did I bother to set a time?

Cover not what I expected it to be. It is a flip cover that is built into the phone back cover... already sagging to the one side. Still need to find a comfortable position to hold the phone while taking photos. Flap at top might work, then it acts as a shade against the sun... but is in the way.

You used the "Note" in the same sentence as a 1999 phone:wtf:... that should take away the anxiety for people that think that they wasted their money. When did you take delivery?

I'm not sure many people know that the cover is like that.
My first impression when seen it while ordering was that the cover was a silicon bumper cover. But then again I didn't read anything, I ignored it when I saw the price.
