Zest T1

I would also prefer if the partition was removed altogether. 8gb internal, and use your memory card for whatever you want.

Well ****. Wasnt having problems previously, did the update and am now having storage problems.

Is there some way of removing the "phone storage" partition altogether? I'm somewhat used to just having one partition and the freedom of deciding how I fill that storage.

This. Ideally, this is what I want. I've said this from the beginning.

I will say however, Kudos to Zest for actually releasing the software to be able to repartition the way they did. Honestly, I can't say a company like for example, Samsung, would've done the same (although, Samsung has never had such a problem as far as I'm aware).

I've been bitching a lot lately with regards to this phone, but I'm actually smiling tonight.

It would not make sense for them to remove the phone storage partition, for people that don't need a memory card there would be no way to get photos etc off as the internal memory is hidden. I have seen people remove the phone storage partition all together but it actually still shows up in the menu etc just as a few bytes big, not sure it can be completely hidden.

For those that want to edit the partition sizes you need to open the scatter and EBR1 and EBR2 files, try http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ for the hex files and follow the PDF guide I linked to earlier in this thread (don't forget the formula on the one page is incorrect)

I tried and failed....
Managed to resize the internal storage but it corrupted the phone storage.

Someone else did succeed though. He mentioned it in a previous post in this thread. Even with his instructions and EBR files it did not work for me. Please make a full backup with MTK Droid tools before attempting....

found drivers for windows 8.1 so i used that.. seemed fine. but in spmultiportflash when i click save it comes with this error
" '3.1345' is not a valid floating point value"

i wonder if it could be that the driver wasnt installed properly... but did anyone get that?

Just noticed something that others may find interesting. I was suffering from the proximity sensor issue that was causing the screen to turn off and come back on during a call.

After doing the re-flash and partitioning it seems that it is now working as it should; when the proximity sensor is blocked the screen turns off and remains off, preventing face-dialing and accidental mid-call cutoffs. :)

Don't know if others will have the same luck, but I am now one happy-chappy :)

(I posted this to Zest's FB page, posing here for convenience :) )

I got the same and resorted to a laptop with Windows 7 installed to do the update.

Worked for me as well. I had to browse manually to the following two files though to get rid of the DA error:
Factory database|Setup data source file: for the MTK_DATABASE.mdb file
File|Open Download Agent File: for the MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin file

For those that have rooted, did anyone get Titanium Backup working? Or CWM Recovery? I can't get those two working.

I'm still having the proximity sensor issues. You're the lucky one.

HI Excuse my ignorance but I have not been able to search the forum for this fix. My T1 sometimes take a loooong time to get a gps fix. Is there a solution?
