I think I have found a solution to the disappearing icons if you enable phone storage for applications.
I installed a third party launcher like Nova Launder and it is working perfectly. One you reboot all the icons stay in place on the screens even if the app is on phone storage. If you try access the app immediately you get an error " app is not installed". Wait 1 min or so, and then try again and it works. Very happy as the storage problem combined with the missing icons has been my biggest frustration to date.
This also points to a possible bug/gap in the standard launcher.
 
Dont know if its been asked but what cpu is in this phone?
MTK 6582m ?

If it is, you can repartition the apps storage if you follow the guide here

Thats after getting root first of course - Try This

Remember,this will void your waranty (this is if it uses a MTK cpu though)

KingoRoot is not working...the processor is MTK6582.
 
Yea I have received zero response for my issues. Emailed Debbie, have pm zest of Facebook, resorted to posting on the wall. Will see what comes out of it. I want a replacement.
 
This whole "insufficient storage" thing is really starting to annoy me. Not for installing apps, but just to update them. This really needs to be addressed.
