Zest T1

We will be posting tonight :) We will post on here too. Our founder and CEO, David Lindeque, will also be posting an open letter on this thread with regard to where Zest is and his thoughts etc.
 
Hi Richard, in addition to our reply, we would like to note that yes, there were comments from you that were deleted. However, if one looks at the nature of your comments, they were totally malicious and irrelevant sand actually sparked outrage with a few of our fans. We welcome feedback, be it negative or positive, but when someone visits the page and attacks the team with malicious remarks that offends other users, they will be removed. Our "rude" responses were met with a few positive responses from other users who also believed that your comments were unnecessary.

Please understand two things: 1. Zest is a young startup that is growing strongly, but is still growing. 2. Zest offers unparalleled quality and value for the price you paid. Many users scrutinise us on the same level or more than they do when purchasing a high-end device that costs 400% more. Please be understanding like the other many happy and satisfied users.
 
The big promises and no delivery is not on. It's like Zuma - all talk and no substance.

Hi Chrismine. We stuck by our promise and offered you a great device at an unparalleled price and value point. The OTA was simply not ready on time. Our team is hard at work. :) Please be understanding.
 
Agree. I wonder at what stage will Afrihost get involved as they in essence lend credibility to the deal.....

We offered and will continue to offer South Africans a powerful device and data package that is simply unparalleled in terms of value. We were delayed in readying our OTA and rather than release an update that was not perfect, we have chosen to hold out until tomorrow (a post is coming).

Afrihost and Zest are in constant communication. Our team is working extremely hard at a variety of aspects that you are welcome to inquire about. On a personal level, my team and I have worked many long, hard hours to continue to offer more product and unbeatable deals. We are also finishing up on development on our flagship device. It is sad to see the harsh scrutiny that the minority is putting on us and publishing on this forum. I do not see other foreign companies receiving the same treatment? The device and package offered you incredible value, all we are asking is for your understanding and support. Please email me directly at [email protected] if you have further issues.

On a more positive note, it is great to see the many happy clients who are loving their devices and to be featured on CNBC, 702 Radio and other channels who are loving the package.
 
Yea I have received zero response for my issues. Emailed Debbie, have pm zest of Facebook, resorted to posting on the wall. Will see what comes out of it. I want a replacement.

They've been really quiet since the OTA failed to materialise last week.

Hi there. The OTA was not ready. afrihost and Zest made a few edits to it and thus it was not ready on time. Please bear with us. We are trying our best to ready the OTA, finish development on the next device, focus on speeding up our production, work on exciting deals for you... please be understanding. Was mentioned to Chrismine, all we ask is your understanding.
 
Oh, I am very much understanding! I bought a Zest T1 which I dont need on good faith as I wanted to support Afrihost and a young startup. I have a perfectly good S3 and a MotoG as backup. I do understand that there will be teething problems but please communicate it better.

While @zestmobile is around, will the next ota update address any battery issues? The battery level has fallen off a cliff on a few occasions from being fully charged, then standby for a few hours, check the phone still around the high 90s, pick it up and start using it and drops down to 20 or so.

On another note, think the guys are looking for incremental updates rather than one big update. Sort of like independent playstore apps that push updates everyday, knowing they aren't fixing everything. Just a thought.

Plans on an actual plastic, non flip, bumper/case for the phone?

With regard to the silicone/plastic covers, we are going to start production of them very soon. :) We have other accessories that will be released in the next week or so and will be posting updates regarding the covers and these.
 
Please be more specific than extremely soon. In my perception it is about 5 minutes. We don't want to disappoint chrismine do we?

Thanks for the update. I appreciate your update on all the current issues. As a startup, I did expect some extreme teething problems. I'm glad you have been open with the teething problems as it is obvious to us all. Some of us do appreciate your feedback and are patient to wait for the next update.

Joh! I forgot to mention my Asus TF300TG too. Actually two of them! One I bricked and as I thought Asus would take months to fix it I bought another. They did have it back in my grubby paws in working condition in a week...

Ah hell, no, i can't have anymo...hmm..what'll the price be? [lol, sigh, MGS - multiple gadget syndrome]
I'd love a look at the accelerate if it's also dual sim, but I'll in all likelihood sell the T1 then
 
I've seen R 2999 somewhere....Zest unfortunately does not want to trade in a slightly used T1
