Yeah, it's a partial solution for now... check out inc0gnit0's response:
I asked them about partitioning. This was the response

Looks like they'll be aiming to get a more permanent resolve to the problem soon.

Does anyone know how to turn off the hide caller ID function?

All my mates are complaining that it shows up as Pvt number whenever I call.

I also get an "unsuccessful" message notification each time I try to end a number for my SIM under sim management.

:/

I thought the caller ID hiding was a network setting (not phone dependent) ... But you can get to it by the following steps:
* Open the phone app
* Click on "menu" then select settings
* Select "Voice Call"
* Select "Additional settings"
* Then pick the SIM card you use for your outgoing calls
* From there select "Caller ID"
* You'll either need to select "Network Default", or "Show Number"

If "Network default" was selected previously, then you'll need to pick "Show Number" or call your service provider.

Fantastic thanks! It worked.

I always found rooting to be harmless if you generally read the instructions on how to do so for a specific handset. As a huge Android fan Ive owned too many handsets to even count now and rooted and flashed customs ROMs by the hundreds. For the the first time ever i managed to brick my Note3 by just doing a simple rom flash.

Forced to use my Zest now as my main device, but even with the latest OTA the handsets "issues" can be frustrating at times. Found that swiftkey actually makes typing worse so best to just stick to the stock keyboard.

Point that i was trying to make is that I think we must all be very cautious on attempting root on the Zest unless we are certain it works without the risk of bricking the device. For now i'll rather wait for someone to come up with a proper guide.
Have managed to root mine. So far so good

Did you try reflashing stock with Odin? What do you define as bricked?

I had my Note 2 in a boot loop when I flashed a ROM, flashed stock and it worked... Second time I flashed the same ROM, all was good.

When returning to stock a few months later, I lost my IMEI. Fixed that by flashing another radio with Odin :)

Lost my IMEI when trying to flash a stock ROM. peeps over @ xda recons one cant get it back unless you made a backup.

Are you sure you flashed the right firmware. I flashed XFA rather than XFE and that lost it for me. I flashed another radio and all was good

Managed to root, still can't repartition. Got into a very bad state with one tool. How do you backup an IMEI ?

Ok just going to post links here as quite a few people are asking.

Disclaimer , all this is at your own risk, check the files yourself and understand that bad stuff can happen, make sure you have a full backup with SPTools and MTKDroid so you can recover from bad things. Also I suggest you have CWM or similar and root. You will LOSE YOUR DATA with this method as you have to do a factory data reset and wipe all caches.

Note if you plan to use different sizes in the formula for D on page 3 should read (A + X) -C as it is in the first page(with B) as far as I understand. Used HxD portable to edit the files.

Cheers, here are links to the files. Let us all know how it goes.

Well they've said they're going to give instructions to do the repartition. I'm just going to wait for that. Less risk.

Might wait a while... But I'm curious.

On another note, I asked them on their Facebook page about being all quiet in this thread (and I do believe I was being nice about it) and their response was to ignore me and then delete that post- that seems to be the norm when your comment or query is even marginally on the side of neutral, never mind negative. If it's not positive or to their liking, they delete any and all queries/comments.
Kinda reminds me of a propaganda machine.

Main reason I decided to go ahead with the repartition is that the last OTA put the phone into an endless boot cycle. I asked for help to get them to repartition for me before the OTA and although I am in durban where they are based got slow responses and then nothing. Phone is much better now with more space, still extremely disappointed with their customer care / attitude. I think the only reason that they sold so many phones was the afrihost data, if it was a normal sales channel most people would have stayed away until it was known to be stable. Its still not a bad phone but I think if I had a do over I would stick with a known brand, better root techniques, better accessories ( covers, zagg shields etc) and much more stable.

+1
Intuition tells me there will not be a huge uptake of the new Accelerate model...

I will rather pay more for a Moto X if and when Orange Online have it again.

That said I have done my duty to support a local entrepreneur/startup.
